Are the powerblocks that is currently going for $300 on woot a better product?
By a country mile. Powerblocks are built to last and a much higher quality product with much less chance of "weight change" malfunction.

how can you work out with that 55 lb limit? You will soon need an upgrade. Save your money and get something 90 lb for long term
While I agree personally, this is not true for at least 75% of the public. 55lbs is adequate for 95% of women and probably at least 50% of men.

Heck, 50% of men is being generous. Though I think it really depends on who you think the audience is. "All men"? Then probably only like 10% of men will need over 55 pounds. On the other hand if you're talking about "men who are serious about building muscle" then a great majority will need over 55 pounds.

For dudes who just want to get into decent shape, 55 is plenty. Very few dudes can curl 55. Shoulder pressing 55 is more than most guys can do. And heck, not that many non-gym going guys are going to be able to dumbbell press 55.

But yeah if you want to get into GREAT shape or build a lot of muscle... then you will outgrow 55. BUT on the other hand I think most people like that though (who want to get into great shape/build a lot of muscle) will have a gym membership anyways.

Been eyeing a set of these adjustable dumbbells for a few months. Pulled the trigger on these. 55lbs should be plenty for what I do (basic home gym exercises).

I have the old version when it was on SD for $200. Best weights I've ever purchased. I'm sure this new one is better. I guess the only bad thing is that there is no stand made by nordictrack for this model.

There are lifts that use both hands on one dumbbell that will max out a 55lb set pretty quick.

I bought these under the Weider brand name $198 at Sam's in late '21. Use them several times a week, they've held up perfectly. I don't slame them down or drop them, the selector is a spring action so be easy on that when changing weight. My bulk-up days are long gone so these paired with an incline/decline bench equals plenty of workout options. They've been $200 well spent.

Personally I prefer my Powerblock Elite EXP over these, a lot of it has to do with the ability to increase the weight. Definitely recommend some knurled grips for them though, huge game changer over the rubber and bulbous grips that come standard, it's well worth the cost.

Can't think of many that wouldn't be able to be replaced or re-imagined using two dumbbells.

There are cheaper options. With the USA model, you can get them direct from PB for $100

I bought these for $300 about 2 years ago. Theyre great if you dont need anything over 50lbs.
55lbs Smilie
I agree, though. Cheaper than Bowflex, feel better in your hand, more balanced, and less bulky.
Actually like the slider adjustment more than the bowflex one, and they seem sturdy.
I can do pushups on them, though I'm not a heavy dude.
My kids use them too, with ease.
The only slight drawback would be that the plates need to be aligned well, or the slider will stick. A little shuffling in the base clears that right up.

Thank you, on the fence between the three. Truth be told, I'm sure any of them are fine, just have to start lifting heavy stuff instead of sitting on Slickdeals haha.

Yes Powerblocks is better. These max out at 55lbs. Extra pounds can be added to Powerblocks all the way to 90lb. These most likely have the same "Please don't drop" warning as the Bowflex Selecttech. I've heard of people having Powerblocks and still going strong while taking a beating. Some people also hate that these always stay the same length at all weight settings while the Powerblock starts out small than gets longer as you add more weight.
These get smaller as you take weights off similar to powerblocks.

These have mechanical parts and plastic. Powerblocks are definitely more durable. I'm pretty careful not to drop these.

Honestly, the biggest advantage these have provided for me is the ability to have smaller weights that can be set at pretty small increments. This really helps isolate minor muscle groups without risking injury.
