Given current pricing of motor oils, thought this might be worthwhile for some of us running 0w-20.

$24 for a 5 qt jug isn't a slickdeal in my mind. I need sub-$15. A $9 premium for AFE is too much, imo.

You paying for a top branded oil that has been proven manufacturer since 70's vs something that came on the market in 2004, has less mileage capability and made differently not to mention it's a synthetic blend oil. With all that being said I haven't seen one formula one car using Kirkland oil so that 4$ difference must be well accounted for.

this is one of the few oils my car burns (~0.5qt/3k miles). no issues with pennzoil/castrol/shell

Must be really high mileage or very old hooptie there, might be time to take it to the dealer.

Kirkland is not a synthetic blend oil. It is full synthetic. I have been using it for the longest time and I put 80k miles on my car every year. No, I don't drive an F1 car, so I don't need to pay the extra for Mobile 1.

When do the mobil 1 rebates go on? It's been a while since I did them but it used to be twice a year like clockwork if I remember right

None of these oils are full synthetic. They are all synthetic blends. The companies found a legal loop hole to claim full synthetic. Research a little deeper, and you will find this true. If you were to find a full synthetic oil it would cost 3 times as much. Off the top of my head i could only think of one company that makes full synthetic oil. And that's hot shots. Not promoting this company just saying

I think AMSOIL also has true 100% synthetic oils; although, you are correct that there is a price difference.
