Paying for marketing. Kirkland from Costco is $20 all the time.
You paying for a top branded oil that has been proven manufacturer since 70's vs something that came on the market in 2004, has less mileage capability and made differently not to mention it's a synthetic blend oil. With all that being said I haven't seen one formula one car using Kirkland oil so that 4$ difference must be well accounted for.

Kirkland is not a synthetic blend oil. It is full synthetic. I have been using it for the longest time and I put 80k miles on my car every year. No, I don't drive an F1 car, so I don't need to pay the extra for Mobile 1.
Mobil Extended Performance High Mileage FullSynthetic oils are also on sale 15 qts for $77.88...I have not seen this price for this variety in few months now as most of the times they are around $100+ 5W-20: $77.88 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-.../669598778

None of these oils are full synthetic. They are all synthetic blends. The companies found a legal loop hole to claim full synthetic. Research a little deeper, and you will find this true. If you were to find a full synthetic oil it would cost 3 times as much. Off the top of my head i could only think of one company that makes full synthetic oil. And that's hot shots. Not promoting this company just saying

I think AMSOIL also has true 100% synthetic oils; although, you are correct that there is a price difference.
