Moleskine's quality has gone down in the past decade as they've increased their focus more towards marketing and branding. You may notice this more if you are a fountain pen as the paper tends to give into feathering and bleed-through compared to higher-quality paper.

That being said, if you're looking for something that's similar but better quality, Leuchtterm1917's 2023 planners [barnesandnoble.com] are also discounted and something I'd recommend as a long-time user, but also use whatever works for you.

Hi there, I updated the URL for the landing page & included SKUs. From bn.com [bn.com], search for MOLESKINE 2023. The SD redirect is wonky -- it takes a few seconds to load. I tested links in Chrome & FF.

The B&N inventory checker may not be accurate. I popped into a B&N that showed available stock for 12 Month planners. An employee told me the store was expecting 12M within the next week - no ETA; and I was the 20th customer to ask today LOL

I bought 18M -- it's slightly thicker than my 12M. Worthwhile to stop by your local B&N -- they can lookup by SKU. If you place an online order for pickup & employee is unable to locate the item, order is cancelled.

I don't get the appeal of moleskin. You can get cheaper notebooks of similar quality from Muji or Daiso.

Not sure I agree. Moleskine notebooks have always felt premium to me for a few reasons: namely the leather like exterior, the pocket(s), paper quality, and closure band.

If either brand you mentioned has a similar notebook I'd be interested!

Mujis paper and cover have more of a slick plastic feeling to me.

I used one of the hard cover planners last year. Worked well, nothing extraordinary, but would have gone with it again at this price. Ended up picking up a planner at Target a few weeks back. Wish it didn't have the wire binding, but otherwise will do fine. I do think that having a paper planner works best for me vs something like Google Calendar or any of the ToDo apps. Just like the physical nature of it. Use it for both keeping track of plans and to dos.
