Not a great deal. I got that router with a router bit set for $40 from Direct Tools with free shipping. Now that was a great deal.
That was the old model P601 that had one speed. This is the new model released in 2022 that has a variable speed. I bought this around black Friday and it did a wonderful job flattening a small slab I had. At this price, I might pick up another one for the shop.
It can't handle much, gets stuck if the depth is too much, and kinda ruins the project. The screw holding the level tends to move occasionally so good luck with consistency with this. For small jobs this will do nicely.
Go check the leftover holiday stuff. HD app showed 0 in stock anywhere near me but there are at least 30 in the holiday area at the 2 locations I went to in the last few days
None in store. None to ship to home. But for $8.99 they'll manifest one and express ship that thing to me tomorrow!
thats what mine was showing online. i figured, if they can shipped delivered same day. it was coming locally. I just drove to my nearest home depot and had some instock. sign said on sale for $7X.xx but rang up as $49.99
Picked up one today along with the Ryobi 15-bit set for $39. Did some test pieces and it looks like it will be good for my small projects I need to be cordless. Maybe it can handle larger projects… we'll see.
I didn't know they had a newer version out. I was able to go to my local store and pick up one in the holiday section. There were 5 left. Being slightly smaller is nice but having the variable speed was what I was hoping they would add. I didn't like the old version going full speed only. Nice upgrade. Thanks OP
Can anyone offer some insight on the differences between this one and the square based one on clearance for $35? Is it just variable speed and does that have a huge impact? TIA
