The roku version does not seem to support playback from the SD card in the App:

That is probably a deal breaker unless you want to pay for their yearly subscription.
Yes, from what I've read though they aren't compatible with each other's app.
Apparently their respective apps require whitelisted MACs, so you can't cross-flash them.

Wi-Fi is a registered trademark?
Indeed. It's a marketing term created to refer to wireless networks. For example "WiFi 5" sounds better than "IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n".

Thanks for the recommendation! I had high hopes but it turns out that remote only controls Roku devices that have IR sensors like built-in TV's, the lower end ones and the Roku Ultra. Doesn't work on the sticks or without line of sight on the Ultra.

Yeah I saw that in a YT video a couple days ago.

Most people who buy these cameras probably won't be aware of this key difference ahead of time.

Yup. Roku's new smart home devices are rebranded Wyze smart home devices. Roku has teamed up with Wyze Labs to sell its own line of smart home products, including security cameras, smart plugs, and smart lights. 🤙
And Wyze is just rebranded Xiaomi

What is your issue with Wyze
I love wyze but I have never used a Roku
Fire stick all the way,
Can you even sideload Android apps on a Roku? Does it run Android or some other OS ?
I never had a need for it because I use Android TV boxes and fire sticks.
Seems like a boomer box for non tech savvy people who don't know how to sideload and lie to pay for crappy content
I'm fully capable of modifying devices to sideload. However, I don't need to. I just prefer Roku's interface over its competition. I have no desire to watch pirated compressed video streams on a Fire Stick.

Roku is bad? On what basis? Roku has been one of the key drivers of the entire streaming movement, and it has about a 33% market share. Intermittent profitability aside, Roku has fast, reliable devices with an intuitive interface. Their Ultra box prob offers the best value for the price-point. Just give me a backlit remote like the Shield and don't think I would have any complaints.
Rep dat.... Then again, their remote is so intuitive I never even felt the need for it to be backlit.

Yikes! That is pretty scuffed. Not to mention the fact that this doesn't have a Cam Plus Lite ($0) subscription equivalent.

These are basically Wyze camera with missing button to view local SD storage option esp if you don't sign up for cloud. Not sure why they remove it but Wyze version has it. May be a future update but right now The wyze is the better choice.

Beside that an additional bonus is that if you got roku stick/tv u can stream ur feeds there.

it could flash the firmware to be able to interoperating together ...
Nonetheless, the $35 for two Wyze cam V3 deal in HD is still running , if your local HD still have in stock
Apparently their respective apps require whitelisted MACs, so you can't cross-flash them.
