FYI, I did chat with one of the reps and they explained that this was a worldwide issue and blamed social media for sharing the event registration. They took zero accountability for letting so many signup without capping registration and kept repeating that it was not intentional and not a scam. They also said there are no plans for any compensation but that they would "do better in the future".

Yeah I did remember reading something in the disclaimer that read along the lines that everyone that who registers is still not guaranteed to be able to attend and receive the $50 so that implies a limit, but truthfully yeah I can't see Nike just handing out $50 like candy to everyone. It was too good to be true

I am attending the "Nike Virtual Focus Group", but the "Available tests" is empty and the page says "Keep this page open and listen for the ding that tells you when a new test is available". Do you have any idea how does this Focus Group?

Well, now i know not to bother with any of these going forward. For all I know, 100K+ people could have registered, and they are only letting in 1,000. So 1% or less even.

They're Not handing out $50 for joining. You're basically working for it, answering questions for an hour. I've done stuff like this in the past. Never for Nike though.

UPDATE

The Nike Focus Group stream was a bust. Nike couldn't handle the traffic and haven't seen one person get through. Hopefully they do this again in the future and are prepared.

Talk about shady come on's and sleazy marketing...after not being able to join the focus group, I just now got an email from Nike telling me that there is a price drop on one of their shoe models. Like I give a fark now, or would ever buy anything Nike again. I deleted the app, cancelled my account and unsubscribed from all emails. fark NIKE!
