I love hollow knight, worth getting. You can put a lot of hours into that game. I read many reviews about Celeste and I didn't know what it was about but damn, this game is pretty fun. At some points frustrating but challenging. It's not combat based but maneuvering. You can end up with so many hours ...

3 incredible games with Stardew, Hollow Knight, and Celeste. If you haven't bought these gems yet now is the perfect time
Is Celeste really that great of a game? The user reviews seem ridiculous, like greatest game they ever played. I love platformers, like Hollow Knight, but the pixel graphics are kinda making me second guess it. Also the reviews seem almost unbelievably positive.

IMO: it's not the greatest game ever, but it *is* really good. In particular with the indie price tag in mind. The pixel graphics are really well executed and grew on me pretty quickly.

It's not the greatest game ever, but it's way up there on the list of platformers I've played over the last few years. If you love platformers, it's a no-brainer in my opinion.

Not the greatest game I've ever played, but quite possibly the best platformer, it really is that good. I would call Hollow Knight a Metroidvania and not a platformer, though, so if you're looking for combat or exploration, this is not the game for you, it's just pure precision platforming executed at the highest level.
I personally like pixel graphics, so that was a draw for me, can't tell you if you'll ever get used to them.

To be honest, yes, Celeste is really that great - IF you love platformers. I grew up with 2D platformers in the NES/SNES era. Celeste is one of the rare modern games (along with Rayman Legends and Super Meat Boy) that I would place in my all time favorites, alongside Super Mario Bros 1/3, Super Mario World, and Donkey Kong Country.
Hollow Knight is of equally superb quality, I just wouldn't categorize it as purely a platformer like the other games above. HK is more of a metroidvania with a heavy focus on combat (to me atleast). However, the white palace section does have some insanely intricate platforming.

Yes, it is that good. I've been playing video games for 30 years and Celeste and Hollow Knight are two of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had.
