i was fortunate enough to get a functional one with low milage and only a minor dent in the frame, but i did find it annoying that the device was still bound to the previous user's account. and segway in no way wants to unbind it for me because "newegg is not an authorized reseller"

Damn. Back again! I've already bought 2 and returned both as they both arrived with severed cables out of the box thus non-functional. Also took about a week for Newegg to even process an RMA after I received it cause they hadn't been invoiced by this "refurbisher". So hell, why not try a third time!

Same deal is back from before Christmas. I got one and was happy. Ordered a second one so we can ride together. Read the reviews, they are not all good, but I was happy.

Last time this deal came back right before Christmas, people said it's going to be returns from previous deal. I ordered one more anyway and received a brand new sealed ES4 scooter in a beat up box. This time it's gotta be returns right? Smilie

Ordered 1 when they first went for $229. Mine was brand new, 0.3 total milea (little rubber pokey nubs still on the tires and all). YMMV. But they were missing the screws to attach the handle.

Keep in mind this warranty is not through Segway, they refused to even do the bare minimum support of sending me 4 screws. Not a big deal for me though, I'm sure Newegg would just take a return or swap it out for you in those 90 days, if you had a bigger problem with it.

Supposed to be flat head screws with tapered heads, but I had some regular round head ones (that I had leftover from a monitor mount hardware kit) that were the right size and they fit just fine snuggly in the recess holes.

That's pretty messed up. In my experience, you can often factory reset devices to drop that link. However since they are linked to an online account at Segway, I can't guarantee it'd work here. Have you tried to factory reset it?

Curious whether Newegg offered prepaid return labels, or if they tried to have you pay return shipping? I would insist on them paying if a defective situation. If buyers remorse only, maybe they could make you pay for it. After their recent imbroglio, hopefully, they are going the extra mile.

My experience as well

Ordered two...one had 2 miles on it, the other had around 80 miles. Minor signs of usage.

Happy with mine initially... we'll see how long they actually hold up. If I can get two years out of it, cool.

Prepaid labels and was a easy return process, got refunded the next day.

Returned 2 both were broken no hassle returning. just a chore repackaging it the quality control on these have to be pretty bad. I talked to new egg the guy said there's 4-5 being returned each day. Not sure what percentage that is but it's not just me. If you don't mind testing the scooters out and returning them go for it. I tapped out after 2
