I was tracking this for a while, finally these irons have shown up again.
I see more than 10 listings for Like New irons sold by Amazon Warehouse.

Most say packaging damage. I guess these all fell off a pallet or something.
I bought this iron for my mom as a Christmas gift, so far she likes it.

Sort by Used-Like new as shown in screenshot.

Can still get used-acceptible for $84. I've never personally been disappointed buying that condition on Amazon. But, who irons clothes in 2023?

As somebody who doesn't have an iron and a deal sucker, I'd love an excuse to eventually buy one, but I don't really see the need

hah! for $21 extra I rather get a Like-New.
For electronics especially I don't like Acceptable.

Amazon warehouse ratings are not conservative.

I mean, it's pretty bold to call an iron "electronics" 😂. That being said, I would also be more skeptical about actual electronics open items. Personally I'd roll the dice and save $21 (not like you can't return it if you get some POS sent to you). I don't have big data on it, but the about 30+ times I've bought a used-acceptible item it was nearly new (the only time I recall that not being the case was a bread machine that had a small dent in it). I'd say that's pretty good odds for all the money I've saved. Nearly all of these open items big box stores have been things people bought and returned after 15-30days (depending on the store). Most are as good as new. I use to work in a big box store processing the open box returns. If the box is damaged (which was the majority of all damage) that was always instant mid grade condition.

But to the point I made in the first post, $21 more for like-new isn't an option. But sure, pretend I was claiming that was a better option and not just pointing out an alternate option for anyone who wanted to buy this iron

In my experience, I would say the ratings are not CONSISTENT, but they've sometimes been conservative.

I actually bought this exact iron 3 years ago almost to the day. It was Like New, but it had black crap all over the plate. I called and they reshipped another like new and it had the factory sticker on the plate like it was never used.

IMO i wouldn't generally rule out taking a chance on an appliance for being "Acceptable," but then again this could actually be an example of an item where someone could have return-frauded one they bought a while ago.

I've been buying AW deals for years now, and the whole crapshoot aspect of it has been part of the fun.

Ridiculous price. I got it at Costco $39.99 even if you are not a member add $5 extra. This is no way to be a deal. Come on OP stop this nonsense with Amazon , don't promote them

Recently? Do you have a link or item# so we can try to duplicate? I'm not seeing it on costco.com

Wonder if the black crap on the metal was from them using it without peeling the sticker off lol

Either that or they tried to iron an asphalt shingle.

It's quite possible. I just looked at the new one they sent and it's a white sticker which seems obvious to me but i guess they could have missed it before they plugged it in.

My purchase was supposed to be a backup in case our current Rowenda died, but that was right before the pandemic and we've hardly ironed since so I never even used it yet. The box has a big smash in the upper side corner, which looks like it could have been discounted for that reason alone.
