They are designed to project vocals and midbass > deep bass.
The Monster is a 16lb. speaker that probably has a SLA instead of lithium. Those are heavy and go bad much sooner than lithium in my experience. Take forever to charge too.
Save up for a 14lb Tribit Blast if you want the best boombox for the buck. Destroys anything under $300 and was on sale for $150 this fall. I think it may put out the most bass for it's size of any boombox and will murder the new $800 Duvalet in the bass department.
A Soundcore Motion Plus is a good and lightweight $100 BT speaker. Puts out as much bass as the Monster blockrocker & sounds better but weighs 12lbs less.
