Found lowest store around me at $8.27 and picked up a few yesterday. Others were $12.57, $13.97, $15.97, $19.97... YMMV!

Save your money. I bought 2 packs of them the last time around. Very disappointed in the size, colors and amount of control it gave me.

In case you are thinking these are cheaper nanoleaf devices, they aren't even in the same class. There's no app or way to customize the patterns and color. No Bluetooth or WiFi. Just a very flimsy IR control which gives you 8 (unsaturated) colors; 5 steps of overall dimming; white that is a pinkish-greenish hue; and about 6 programmed modes. They are more of a toy than anything. Your 9 year old will think they are really cool for their TikTok videos.

There's a reason why the price keeps dropping. I will guess that much of what's left are customer returns, so be careful when you shop. Mine get sent back on Monday.
I can't view this item from brickseek or here because of all the fking redirect spam and url rewriting. My adblock doesn't allow it because guess what, that's a security risk. Stop with this sht already.
Yeah their description is a bit misleading ( 1' x 1', 6 pcs). It's close to 1x1ish total when all 6 are put together.

How are any RGB lights not toys
exactly?
I have lifx tiles and nano leaf rhythm
But I just picked up 3 sets at $9 ea w/tax
They are pretty nice especially for this price, I wouldn't trust those adhesive strips though and I am trying to fit out how a other poster here got 3 sets linked
With one power supply without burning my house down, he must be running it off of his PC or have a really good power supply because I just plugged 2 sets into my 12 amp ipad charger and it is getting kinda warm.
I don't think anything under 30 is a good idea

Employees snagged them. Happened to me too.

Yep happened to me too
I bought one for pickup, then I went to the store , it said 2 in stock before I reserved mine for pickup
I got there and a nice employee led me to them after I couldn't find them
They actually had 4 on the shelf
So I bought another set and took it home to try it out ( my order pick up wasn't ready at the at the time)
I liked it and read in ITT that you can actually connect 3 sets so I decided to go back today to pick up my order which miraculously wasn't cancelled
I got to the store and immediately headed back to the section,I saw the same guy who helped me the day before and he asked me if I was looking for more.
He told me they sold out , but then after talking to him for awhile about smart home stuff he felt bad and brought me one from the back
So I ended up getting 3 sets after all

The math isn't too difficult given the data provided, though if anyone has information on the power adapter included(?) that would be helpful.

The panels are rated at 0.8W each. Note that they're likely only drawing anything near that much at full brightness on white (so they're likely drawing a fraction of that for only red, for example).

At 12 panels that's a total draw of 0.8W x 12 = 9.6W and that puts this well within the default 10W that most any ancient USB A device can support. USB A power adapters are commonly available to support a default 12W mode at 5V and 2.4A (other than the 5W Apple iPhone adapter, so maybe don't use one of those?).

So in theory your 18 panels could draw up to 14.4W but there are a couple of considerations here. First of all, the rating of 0.8W per panel could be overstated (so the actual draw could be lower). Second, as noted earlier, the max rating may only apply at a specific single color setting (e.g. - all white or perhaps blue) at max brightness (which I would suspect isn't likely how these are utilized).

I'd be interested to know what cycling through different single colors at max brightness does. Honestly, I'd expect either the lights or the USB adapter to gracefully shut off rather than anything really concerning happening. In fact, some chargers can even default to a 15W default mode (5V at 3A) which would still be more than enough for three sets, though I doubt GE built these with that much brains (normally 5V at 3A is unique to the default mode of USB-C power delivery devices).

Good luck!
Jon

I have a power brick that says just that
5v 3A ,it has a type C and a type A
It says 5v 3a for the type C , so my question is this , can I plug in a type A to C cable between the panels and the charger
Or will it not work in reverse?
Or plug in a type C OTG adapter to the C port on the charger and use the included cable ,would both of those be the same or is it different/ better to use the OTG?
Or it will not make any dit because the panels do t have the circuity to demand the voltage? Not sure what you mean by "defat mode" but does that require power negotiation on both ends like the PD Power Delivery standard? Sorry but type C stuff still confuses the S out of me.

Yeah I like that they use USB connectors
Instead of some proprietary one like my life tiles
Do you happen to know of any hacking projects for these ?
They are not bad for $8 as they are out of the box but if we could connect an ESP 8266 board to them and use something like WLED that would be great
I don't see how these panels come apart though, I'd like to see the insides
I am guessing the control comes from the mic /IR module but I haven't plugged it in without that attached to be sure.
It would be awesome if we could hack these
The only thing to dont like is that you can kinda see the supports behind the panels, it kinda looks like a small ring in the middle and a radiation symbol ,instead of a solid uniform diffuser ,the shadow from internal support material kind ruines these
Without that and an ESP hack these would be perfect
also minus the no dedicated white channel.
but the RGB is pretty good especially for the price
I also own both nano leaf rhythm and lifx tile (which I used to use with devicebook animations before that got shit down)
There are some pictures of them apart in this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/WLED/com..._to_drive/

Thanks, yeah I did already find that thread and another one on my own already.
The guy who got it working with WLED replied to me and said he will post a write up on his GitHub.
These look pretty good from only having 9 neopixels and also being rear mounted and not side mounted.
I also did end up using a USB type C OTG adapter with a type C power Brick that says 5v 3a for The type C ( it has a type A also that is lower)
So far no problems with 2 sets ,I am going to try 3 next.
The only weird thing I did notice is that 5 of them look warm white on the white setting and the rest look cool white.
At first I thought it was 6 that were warm and thought maybe there was a discrepancy between the 2 sets ,but no.
5 look really warm and the others look cool , I think maybe it has to do with a voltage drop unless these things were made different and I just happer to get 5 that were made different.
Not sure what else can explain it

I see that the biggest complaint about these on Amazon reviews is that they dont stick to the wall. I guess they are sticky on the back and you just stick them to the wall? Anyone else have an issue with that? Seems like you wouldnt be able to restick them elsewhere or change the pattern without some kind of double sided tape?

what's the next cheapest option to customize patterns or color with bluetooth? Is it even in the ballpark of this price?

These are a great investment for content creators. I helped my wife install 2 of these sets on the wall in our guest room where she records her OnlyFans content and her monthly subscriptions increased by more than 15%!
any issues with them sticking to the walls? Some amazon reviews say they just fall off the wall like a few days later.
