If you are mechanically inclined yes. It's not too hard to convert but some additional tools might need to be bought.. making the conversion expensive (if you want to be safe). Leak Detectors, fitting, hoses (additional than kit). lots of trial and error your first time and drilling holes in plastic and making it look good takes some experience. worth it though...as propane and NG is stable and storage is way easier. if anything take your time. think and don't rush it. it will turn out well. warranty voided of course...

though the 200 or so more for the dual fuel model might save a lot of headaches. and you get a warranty with a small engine (which has value). what is 200 now anyways...one trip to the store?

obviously you can decide. I have done both. pros to both... but voiding a warranty can be a huge cost.

Per Champions own Specs, it is a 4gal tank.

https://www.championpowerequipmen...-inverter/

I have the Tractor Supply version of this model, it's a cost effective way to get clean power through the open inverter design and keep more sensitive electronics running in a power outage.

Happy dealhunting.

I've seen info online about converting gasoline generators to NG. Has anyone attempted such a conversion with the retail kits that are available? Is it safe?
I have my generator running on a motor snorkel. I have a WEN 875i. I am fixing to convert my generac IQ3500 to propane as well. It's relatively easy but I will say each persons difficulties exist based on their gas supply, electricity inlet location, and ability to run a generator far enough from the home to not die from carbon monoxide.

Yeah not 240. I have a small 120 supply one for my furnace but need 240 for my well pump
Was excited for a moment…
Depending on your well you could get a 110v pump.

How much are we typically looking at to have an electrician hook this to the panel with a switch?

I don't have this, but I have two other Champion inverter generators (one a little smaller than this, and the other one about half this size and portable), no heavy use yet but have broken them in and made some use of them over the past year and more, and my observations so far have been:
  • Both start easily, run smoothly, with consistent 60 Hz and good voltage.
  • They are incredibly quiet for their output.
  • Pull the spark plugs and check the gaps before running for the first time. One of mine was way off. A silly thing for them to have poor quality control on, because someone will start the thing, it will run badly, and they'll think they got a bad generator and want to return the whole thing when it really is just the simplest thing that the spark plug wasn't adjusted properly.
  • Both of my models came with floating neutrals. This seems surprising as a default choice for a small generator that is more likely to be running individual appliances than to be hooked into the electrical panel and already-bonded neutral of an entire home. You'll want to test this when you get yours just to make sure of whether it is bonded or floating, and you may need to adjust that, depending on your use case.

Someone else noted this also but worth mentioning next to the link: this model is indeed dual fuel and marked way down, but is not an inverter generator like the original post.
