I was at Petco today and they had some great clearance deals on cat food, up to around 60% off. Petco clearance prices and availability vary by store, so you will have to go to your local store to see what they have. I have attached some pics but there were even more there. It did appear to be mainly cat food at least at my store, I did not see much dog food on clearance but again that may vary by store. Petco is doing a major clearance event right now.

Be alert that your normal brand may change formulation. Best to check dog food advisor for updates. Especially for those that have pets that have sensitive stomachs.

I lost my #1 kitty to heart issues which caused diaphragm issues. she was was a stray at roughly 4 months, very mal nourished ready to die, I can't remember the wait, but I have a female kitten at roughly 4 months now that is 4 pounds, so I'd say she was 1.5 pounds or less, I'd have to ask the woman to verify. this could've contributed to her development, but she was on several grain free foods her whole 11.5 years with me up to the incident. we got another year put if her almost exactly at the cost of $10,000 the first time and a LOT of determination and effort to live. the second time a year later her diaphragm disconnected and I waited for her condition to get well enough to handle the stress of driving to the vet/ being at the vet/ and do a surgery. everyone said she would die that night and surgery isn't possible, I told them to send it, she wants to live. she made it, rough week after that. what got her was my woman okayed an xray right before the vet closed [they couldn't get night help for observation, covid, etc] and got her excited, which pushed a clot [which I insistently warned them about repeatedly since day 1, as that was common for her, plus surgery and not moving]. her heart gave out, we brought her back. looked like she would recover. didn't get to be there for my girl her last I'm guessing 30 minutes.
we kept her at that vet without night observation solely because all other vets are still no visitors, and if she went , which was a risk, would have been quick and normal like any other day. seeing us seemed to perk her up last hospital visit, as a lot of people would be happy to see someone they like. and we had to encourage eating, moving, etc to start the healing process. I'm not sure she would've v made it as far as she did without me being the one to put her to sleep during surgery, being there when she woke up, and the one forcing her to take her meds and move. unfortunately I wasn't there for her pointless xray, which I would have denied for another month.
that big rant to say, I can't guarentee grain free caused this situation. but I am happy to switch my cats to a combination of both/ or grain as they'll tolerate. I have 2 other cats, a brother/ sister stray I got at 3 months. both on same foods, same time period as my girl. they seem fine. even if you are on grain free, and even if certain legumes, etc did cause heart issues, it wouldn't be guarenteed, just increased chance.

I stick with the major brands that have bigger budgets for quality control and nutrition. I generally go with a mixture of Iams & Science diet varieties, but then switch toward Science Diet options with lower phosphorus in senior cats - Iams doesn't publish phosphorus levels. My cats were all strays originally and I try to find a balance between cost of food and decent long-term health, that allows me to help a cat or 2 more.
Purina One isn't a bad option, either. If I can get certain other brands (Royal Canin, ProPlan) on a really good sale, I might add them in the mix - although in the last few years, there haven't been such sales.
