Thumbs up for a golf deal.

Basic clubs; probably okay for beginners, but probably not ideal even for the price. I'd go with a used set of irons from one of the well-known manufacturers. At this price, you should be able to find something only a few years old. As much as the marketing of these clubs says they'll perform like 'clubs that cost 3x as much,' they won't. Being made with the 'same materials' doesn't equate to equal performance.

Customization isn't that much of a value here either, if it's actually offered. The description says you can customize the length but I didn't see an option for it when selecting handedness and flex. Sites like Callawaypreowned a) offer used clubs at various length and lie angles b) let you customize length/lie for a very reasonable price.

Although the pessimist above is not wrong in getting a second hand set for this or less, this does look like a nice starter set. I think it's a good deal. Coming from someone that buys to many used sets for his collection.

My friend has this set. The newest versions of Stix are great for the price. It's a great set of clubs for beginners. These are extremely forgiving. You should get these if you're a casual beginner player. As in, you don't plan on obsessing over the mechanics, or plan on taking lessons to become a serious golfer. This is for your casual player who plays maybe once a twice per month for fun with the guys.

IMO, I think these irons are better than the Costco Callaway Edge irons. These clubs cannot be customized as stated so you will be upgrading these within 6-12 months if you're planning on becoming a serious golfer.
