I suspect you need to go into stores, not count on BS or HD page.

Unfortunately, X lock makes this far less palatable.

Brickseek really hasn't been accurate at Lowe's with all the clearance deals.

I bought an angle grinder for $15 from harbor freight just yesterday. I don't understand there is a big quality difference between the 2 brands but I am able to do everything I needed with my $15 tool, not sure I could justify such a massive difference in price.

Was it brushless or cordless ? Even 15$ for a corded angle grinder from harbor freight of all places sounds unbelievable! I am not a makita fan by no means but this comparison you attempted does not hold any water. A cordless tool , a brushless tool witch harbor freight both carry baur /Hercules I'm sure I'm missing one name ,don't add up . Even if you could get a 15$ brand new grinder, i probably could not trust it not to start a fire . It be tuff to get a working angle grinder used at a flea market for 15$.

I own this grinder and have been using it for over a year now. Primarily in fabrication settings. Overall it's been a great grinder. The X-lock feature is super fast and easy. My coworkers always look amazed when I swap out a wheel in two seconds and no tool. Wheels aren't easy to find in-store so I order mine online. Bosch also makes x-lock wheels so you aren't completely confined to Makita brand wheels.

Packouts, xlocks, move from 18v to 20v the companies are looking for ways to market these days.

What's is sad, is the technology so easily accessed but just isn't implemented. Why can't my impact have a camera that sees the size bolt the recommends a power setting with one push of a button to confirm the change?

Why is the led on my tool turning off when there's sensors for wrist wind up and the tool is being oriented getting ready for the next fastener.

Hopefully the next generation can get positions in the decision making parts of companies soon the ole timers are taking forever to retire.

price difference is always componentry; your harbor freight doesn't have any rubber overmold, could just be cheap plastic that will melt with any solvents; has no variable speeds or brake for safety, only has one brown red color, cannot run certain disks due to low/high rpm and torque, different arbor mechanism

if these aren't enough reasons then i'll be happy to list more

it's awful of you to generalize that everyone can and is willing to shop at harbor freight thinking that everyone has the same needs or situations as you do

Thanks, I was able to score one of these at my local HD. BS said 4 left on clearance but only saw one of the floor and grabbed it. They also had the Makita 21deg pneumatic framing nailer for $160 and the pneumatic finishing and Brad nailers on clearance as well. Something to look into!
