Although this is technically windows 11 capable, I tried 4 GB ram on another computer not in s mode and was severely disappointed. I couldn't even update the computer. 8 should be the minimum for 11 not in s mode.

What's a nice screen like you doing hanging out with a chromebook-spec Windows laptop internals like this?

Good luck!

Did anyone try Linux on this? Seems like a great screen with Linux specs.

Won't find much else in a low-end, cheap tablet that has an OLED for far better images viewing movies, YouTube, streaming media, and photos!

I don't see why not. If you aren't familiar, Google released Chrome OS Flex, that allows you to turn any Mac or Windows PC into a Chromebook essentially. Keyboard might be different, not sure as I've never tried it.

i bought the Hp tablet with the same processor and 4gb ram. it came with windows 11 and using it was horrible. youtube would lag, webpages ran slow and startup took forever.

I ended up installing ubuntu and the tablet became usable.

I ended up getting one of these for media consumption hoping ubuntu or windows 10 will make this more usable.

Very tempted! Tablet +pen +keyboard. And beautiful screen!
I have a laptop with similar processor (though 8gb ram) and it runs everything fine. Of course not modern fancy games. But I play a lot of emulators and Ultima Online.
Also music software is generally more fun to use with a tablet.

Why is ASUS so stingy with RAM. RAM is so cheap these days (16GB for $30, cheaper if you buy wholesale). Alternatively make it upgradable (slightly difficult but not impossible on a tablet). If this machine has 16GB RAM at $300 I'm sure this will sell. (They can probably price it at $400 and some people will buy it). The Intel Atom still beats a Surface Pro X.
