Keep in mind that this is the 2021 model.
The 2022 one has a better screen.

It might be silly, but does it have a backlit keyboard?

This seems like a decent deal, but I am not an expert in laptops.

Could anyone with some knowledge give their take on the laptop?

Did Lenovo finally stop installing spyware on their laptops or are they still a risk?

That HP one expired. There was a recent post for a touch screen with dedicated geforce mx450 for a similar price I would do instead. It's only 8gb, but worth it to upgrade ram and get thr touch plus dedicated gpu

I've had this laptop for a while. It's a great laptop but big issue with sleep mode. It won't wake from sleep, there's no fix and it's a big pain. The only fix is to use hibernate instead.

I bought one of the 2020 version of this laptop. It has gone to crap. Fans spin, even when the laptop is powered down, so it's not quiet, even when it shuts down. The webcam and mic just died on the one I have. Of course all this happened out of warranty.

I have a Ryzen 5 version from 2020 that I bought from Amazon. It came with 256G and stylus pen and it runs like a champ! I know this version has a better processor bigger HD but no stylus pen. If I remember it correctly I paid roughly around 700 inclusive of taxes so I think this is a good deal and a better screen!

Bought one for stepmom 2 years ago, and she uses it all day, everyday, and loves it. This is a good price, from a good retailer, and I really like these lightweight Lenovos. Thinking about buying myself one, even though I don;t need it.

Not silly at all. Lenovo is notorious for laptop variants w/o backlit kb. If TigerDirect is anything to go by, their site says that it does:
