Here are major differences between the Fenix 6 versions..

First is size:

Garmin Fenix 6S: The smallest model, features a 1.2-inch screen, 42mm case size, and a 20mm band

Garmin Fenix 6: The standard model, features a 1.3-inch screen, 47mm case size, and a 22mm band

Garmin Fenix 6X: The largest model, features a 1.4-inch screen, 51mm case size, and a 26mm band

Second is the version type:

Base version: No Wi-Fi, maps, or onboard music; Gorilla Glass lens; and 64MB of storage

There is no base version of the Fenix 6X.

Pro version: Built-in Wi-Fi, maps, and music; Gorilla Glass lens, and 32GB of storage

Sapphire Pro version: All of the features of the Pro version with a stronger sapphire crystal lens

Pro Solar version: All of the features of the Pro version with a Power Glass lens, capable of solar charging
this is probably the best deal i have seen for a 6x sapphire.

The sapphire screen is worth it. I have been using 5s Sapphire and now after 2.5 years of every single day use/training , its started to shut down for no reason. Its time for me to upgrade.

Also costco has 6 Pro Solar for 380. Its not Sapphire though.
I highly recommend this watch if you want to track your fitness. I got the 6X Pro and love it.

Anyone who has this, do you not want touch screen? It's holding me back as I'm used to the Vivoactive
For year round running, touch screen is a pain—taking off gloves, getting sweat and rain on it. I switched back to only buttons and feel that's a better choice for MN running

Totally agree. I stopped running in my apple watch because if sweating I couldn't stop the run.

I would like the updated HR on the 7 series but will deal with it.

I tested a Fenix 7x for a month and found it too heavy for day to day training. Hoping to see a deal on the non-solar Forerunner 955 soon.

Costco had the solar Fenix about 2 weeks ago for $200 off but now it's not on their site anymore. I got it and so glad I did.

These should continue to fall and I use that loosely. Is the difference just the glass vs the standard 6x?
I have a Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar and my wife isn't a fan of the screen due to the fact its not as vibrant so to speak as the standard gorilla glass found in the non sapphire and this is the same as the Fenix 6 models with and without the sapphire. Sure I can turn up the brightness on my watch however that's at the cost of additional battery life. It annoys me Garmin, Samsung, Apple etc continue to use the Amoled display as the reason for the shorter battery life; I have an Amazfit Trex2 and the battery life is 24 days to 29. All the updates since it came out have tremendously corrected the issues with accuracy against the other watches (ive ran with it against my fenix 7, 245M, All the Galaxy Watches and an apple watch se (very good watch especially for the price and i can't stand the simplicity of Apple products)

If Amazfit can makes watches with truly 21+ days of battery life with amoled displays and very accurate heart rate, gps, etc against their competitors then they can as well. There are countless YouTube people and articles out there talking about the drastic improvements amazfit has made with their accuracy issues and gps (which was minor). I wish they added app support or Garmin would buy em lol While I appreciate the wife getting me the Fenix 7 Solar Sapphire it still doesn't seem "tremendously better" than the 245M I started with at ¼th the cost.

The Fenix 6 Pro at $399 right now is a real no brainer (Amazon and countless other retailers) it is a toss up on whether double the price for a Fenix 7 is worth the few big updates in the 7 over the 6's.

I had an Fenix 3HR Sapphire and should have stuck with it. I switched to the Samsung Watch3 and now 4.

The 3HR battery life lasted a good 7 days normal use with GPS enabled. If I used it to track my hikes etc. 4-5 days. My Watch4 is 2 days if I'm lucky.

The Alt/Baro is inaccurate on Watch4, watch3 was accurate. I like the touch screen on the Samsungs, but that really isn't a deal breaker.

I might have to get another Fenix.

Love my Fenix 6 sapphire. Leaps and bounds better than my old Fitbit versa 2 that broke after 2 years. So much data and insights, and all included without an extra subscription!

I use Garmin for its eco system. My bicycle has Garmin speed and cadence sensor.

I have have a Gamin weight scale.

Its not because I want to get Apple or Samsung fitness watch.

You want to weight everything!

touch screen on my wrist would die in one day in the woods or at work in the field. buttons are reliable and very quick to learn.

I purchased one of these last time it was on sale, not sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this watch. The pixel density bothered me at first but then I noticed how nice it looked with backlight off and it stopped bothering me. The crystal sapphire is a huge plus especially if you plan to get rough with it at all. The non touch screen face is amazing once you get used to it and I'm a huge fan of it compared to touch screen ones. Navigating the Operating System takes a little getting used to and customizing what you have in the menus and etc. I have the PC and Phone App (android) installed and both work very well. There's a separate store app as well for watch faces and etc. The pc app always has an update every few days as well which I really like. If you are big hiker or like anything outdoors for an extended period of time then you will definitely enjoy all the navigation and map features. It also has a great breathing exercise program for stress and relaxation it'll suggest if you're wearing it and your heartrate is elevated for an extended period of time (You can also access it manually). There's also a fantastic sleep monitor which was massively helpful to me. It breaks down light and deep sleep, REM, and when you're fully awake. Battery life all depends on what types of navigation and services you have running. I have everything on usually and like to recharge every other day. I plug it into the computer to check for updates regularly, so it hasn't seemed like a hassle at all. Feel free to ask anything else. I haven't used it in any extreme conditions yet.

FYI anyone who doesn't know about crystal sapphire use in watches, it's one of the best materials that can be used for a watch face cover. Regardless of the age of any of my non smart watches the crystal sapphire stays flawless. Rolex uses it along with a lot of other luxury watch makers. Extremely scratch resistant and easy to wipe off and make it look new. The underside of a t-shirt does wonders.
100% - I own this watch for about 18 months now and it is awesome - I just can confirm what Stephen is saying - good synopsis.

Also, IMHO the "Solar" models are not worth any extra money. The solar does not fully charge, but just adds a little to the battery - maybe 10%, but not enough to prevent them from draining. I think this is a feature that Garmin is testing at the cost of consumers - maybe it works better on the Fenix 7, but on the 6 - "no thank you".

This seems like a great deal.
I think the 6x Sapphire is the same as the 6x pro with sapphire screen?

Correct. eBay also has this in Garmin's refurb store for $350 w2yr warranty. I've had mine exactly a month (replaced a FR935) and am in love. Will easily last me 3-4 years.

Also my first sapphire screen and will never go back.

Amazing watch and price!!
