Just saying: 40% + 20% = 52% (not 60%). Age old marketing trick!

No one mentioned here 60% off. They just mentioned 40% plus 20% .. so no trick all good.

Ha, just was discussing this with my daughter. We did the math at $100 purchase, $48 vs $40….still a great deal.

For the record, the Gap is one of those companies that changes prices (and whether something is on sale) almost daily. For the items I've been watching, this is a meh offer. They had better pricing before BF, then around Dec 15, then again right after Christmas. I expect they'll either drop prices or add another coupon (for example, last month they had an additional coupon that was 10 percent off $50 or more and 20 percent off orders over $100). Buyer beware.

edit: "flash" implies "hurry", but this code has been around for ages. They also use the trick of throwing a "going fast" notification on items you have in your cart. I still have items in my cart and available for purchase that popped "going fast" notices back in Nov.

For anyone curious, it's 1 * (1-.4) * (1-.2) = .48, or 48%. Distribute the terms to your liking.
