These are durable but LOUD. Keep this in mind if you plan to be in the same room as the drives.

Decent price, if it's new. Still cheaper to get a recertified one from Serverpartsdeals for $165.

Yes that's usually how it works, used/refurb is going to be cheaper than new lol.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone else look at the logo and see a dinosaur impaled on a lance?

Not sure I trust a recertified product in my NAS.

Raid 1 in a Nas is about the only place I'd use a recertified drive.

Now we do. Previously, it looked like a jet or spaceship. Thanks for nothing, you monster!

In 2000 I paid $250 for a 40GB 5400 RPM PATA HD and I thought that was great because I'd previously spent $230 for a 5.1GB HD in 1997. Now $250 gets you 400 times the storage at a faster speed.

Let's not even get started on RAM prices - Front Page has 32GB of laptop RAM for $800 vs the $320 I paid in 1997 for 64MB (that's MEGAbytes) which means getting 500 times the RAM for 1/4 the cost.

Decent price, but Newegg…I'll wait.

Also the WD 16TB Red Plus is the same price for those who have a preference.
