Earlier today. It'll be back
This 6950 is a fine card but the 4070 ti will crush it with frame generation.
If you're saying 12GB of VRAM is enough for maxed out 4k gaming today, I agree (for 99% of use cases). However, for $800-950, I'd like to realistically get 4+ years out of my GPU without VRAM issues. Several games currently recommend and use 10GB of VRAM for 4k + ray tracing today. This includes 2021 releases like Far Cry 6, which I've seen push up to 11GB on 4k ultra + ray tracing. I'm not sure why you're defending an $800-950 product that gives you 12GB of VRAM in 2023.
I used a 10gb 3080 at 4K for a couple years without worrying about vram.

There are literally only a handful of games that I can count with one hand that actually use 12GB VRAM at 4K. Plus DLSS and FSR/RSR being a thing lately VRAM is hardly a bottleneck for any modern cards at its designed-for resolution. For any regular crowd that's has 8GB 3060ti/3070 or 6650XT at 1440P, you are perfectly fine waiting for the next generation.

For $100, the 4070ti would gain:
DLSS and usable RT performance
Similar 1400p/4k performance across most titles
100w less peak power usage
Hardware encoder (NVENC) for content creators
I love AMD products, but being objective is important. The 4070ti is a much better product.
