Just sharing my Costco experience from last year if anyone is somewhat disappointed with this Super Bowl pricing. It had been a few years since I had made a purchase for a large, more expensive TV for our den (where we primarily watch movies and sports). After asking around a bit, and checking forums, quite a few people told me that the new TV models come out around May timeframe and that often they use the Super Bowl sale to clear out this year's model and that "now" was the time to jump on a TV because when the new models came out, there wouldn't be any deals for a while and there wouldn't be enough stock of old TVs to really deal on. So, I picked up a Sony 75" X90J during Costco's sale using my Costco CC to maximize the warranty for about $1599 plus tax. After purchasing, I can say that there were at least 5 times that I know of where the price was anywhere from $100 cheaper to $400 cheaper (at Costco or other reputable retailers) including several times where the X90K (newer 2022-2023 model) was actually cheaper. In hindsight, if I'd have had it to do over, I'd have used the Costco Super Bowl sale pricing as a guide and I would have waited on purchasing until I got a better deal.

Hold off. As the recession really starts to bite there will be a huge inventory glut. Just be patient.

Lots of grocery items I only saw at Costco are now available at Kroger. Scarcity seems to be largely over, time to downgrade membership. Also, any interest I may have had in getting the Citi Costco card is now gone.

Not being funny, but without the protections of warranty that Costco famously offered, why buy a TV from there vs…Best Buy??? Sams TV selection has been poor but I will now check them out if they get into the OLED game.

I'm moving and at first our plan was to leave our fridge we got last year with a combined 7 year warranty. Now? May be best to take it! I'm not transferring all of that comfort.

I was looking at a 77" B2 or C2 for a bit cheaper, the ebay buydig deal will be better than this with the warranty. Now I'm thinking about the new Samsung QD Oled 77" coming out, it has some compelling advantages like supposed longevity. How long are we thinking it would take for that one to come down close to 2.5k pricewise. Comes out in March and starts discounting by June? Or maybe it comes out cheap to start.

It looks like they're giving the 3 year Allstate coverage for a total of 5 years. How does that compare with elsewhere?

may be SAMSCLUB will get the C2 below the 2499. my target for the C2 77 will be below 2k.otherwise pass and pay 2500 for an C3 .

Ugh. I'm wondering the same thing. It's literally the main reason I got that Citi card. 4% on gas and shopping is nice but I mainly loved the warranty. 😢

The credit card never worked anyway. Had an appliance break and they didn't want to cover it. Absolute nightmare, never again buying appliances from Costco.

Who said inflation has gone down? It is getting worse in every way, now even Costco. Rich is richer, politicians are rich, the middle class is shrinking but not upward to the richer side, poor is poorer. We are living in a big bubble.

That sort of a 'never slick' blanket statement is nonsense. Costco is similar to a lot of retailers: a smart shopper can figure out what is a better value and what isn't.
