According to the 3C site, it's been this price off and on for 1 month. Typically it's been $5 - $6.

I never really understood why this stuff costs like $8 for 1/5 of an ounce at car parts stores. Is it infused with gold dust or something? You can get a bottle of Harbor Freight's brand with nearly twice as much for under $3. I've used the stuff from Harbor Freight on plenty of non-critical fasteners with no complaints.

However, I use the Permatex stuff on anything important or that requires torquing. Permatex claims their product requires no torque compensation on the technical data sheet. Although I suspect the same would apply to the Harbor Freight stuff, I have no way of knowing for sure.
