I don't buy mounts that don't allow for level adjustment after mounting. There are plenty of affordable tilt mounts that do this. It's helpful because a lot of these mounts are not perfectly square and on larger tvs, especially above a mantle, you will notice it.

Good point. Not as low profile though.

I have one very similar to this and it was a royal PITA to get an older, heavier (70ish lbs) TV mounted on it. You have to get the hinge edges in at JUST the right angle to click in and it is very close to the wall. But for a newer, lighter TV it would probably be fine. I had upgraded the living room TV and decided to move the older one to my bedroom... it was a total chore I wish I had just chucked the TV or bought a different mount.

I have a 66 lb Plasma TV from 9 years ago I have to take off a similar mount. That will be fun.

Coming down should be easier than mounting up, because you're not trying to line up the notches with precision. Come down you just have to lift up and it basically pops off. Now you will probably need a second person to help so you don't drop the thing on your feet.

Unless youre hanging like a small tv in the corner of like a kitchenn or patio, why woukd you ever want to tilt a tv, it should be eye level. Hanging above a mantle looks bad and is impractical

I can't remember the last time I saw a TV at eye level... besides, eye level when I'm laying on the couch or reclined would be too low. Accessible to kids and pets.

Tilt is good for eliminating glare too.

People don't understand ergonomics. Nothing is as obviously lame as above the fireplace mounts.

They do make ones that mechanically lower for viewing but it's not cheap.

Speaking like someone that can't afford housing with a fireplace. My 75" OLED if above my fireplace, so bite me Stick Out Tongue

Bingo. Love my TV above my fireplace. I can lean my head back into the couch and have perfect viewing angle

There are other places to mount tvs.

Unless you have atleast 150" at living room distance the idea laying back on your couch is enough is just cope.

Fireplace isn't a flex, I like most people don't even use them anymore, it's pure decoration, and if you were to flex, really nice ones aren't covered with tvs.
