Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

You don't have to pay any subscription fee. Navi is free but without subscription, it does not have real time traffic. I still think Google map is still the best Navi. For music, you can connect your phone to Tesla via Bluetooth.

There are only two types of subscriptions now, FSD and premium connectivity.

FSD is $199/month and let you do all the FSD has to offer.

Premium connectivity ($10 a month) is essentially 4G data connection on the Tesla and allow you to watch movies, have real time Navi info, car karaokeel, etc. The best feature of among this is actually sentry mode where you can watch the surrounding of the car on app thru the car cc cameras.
Will I be able to link my phone hotspot to the car and enable the car to use it instead of paying the $10/monthly? I have a gut feeling it's a no but maybe I'll be surprised lol.

I own a 2020 Tesla Model S 100P ludicrous mode. I can tell you off the bat that I can be any sports car on the road. I highly recommend everyone to test drive a electric vehicle. Not just a Tesla but all I got to say is these Cars are super fast. The reduction in price on these Tesla will make me want to buy another one.

if you have a family and make under those qualifying income parameters, a car at this price does not make much sense. spending more than you should for your income limits.

Can a Tesla pro kindly share their recommendation on the best Y optional features to get, while still qualifying for the credit? Thanks!
Get the 19" gemini wheel, although it looks ugly it rides much smoother and for color do not get the white pearl, if you are a picky person you may notice the tone of white is not the same all over the car.

Yeah, super boring. I took a few friends for a drive downtown, they were screaming... may want to hold off on the opinion sharing until you've driven one.
Wait, your friends were screaming because of the interior/exterior?!? lmao you have lame friends.

exactly
it's a car that is worth 50K. It has the boring dull design and NOTHING luxurious inside.

There are way better electric cars coming out.

Buy Tesla if you like boring design & jacked price.

Does Tesla pass through $7,500 EV Tax Credit through their leasing program?

Other manufacturers have started passing benefits of this credit through various methods like increased residual value. For those of us who cannot get the tax credit due to AGI, is it possible to get the benefit through leasing?

You can. Just a bit PIA. There's one thing you won't get I forgot which one. I think in car karaoke? Could be wrong. But yeah you don't need it. It's just convenient.

And? It just says take a look, doesn't mean it needs to be replaced. Sounds like you never drive an EV before. Give it a try. You might change your mind.
Feel free to look at my past posts. I've owned a Prius Plug In, 2 e-Golfs, and now a Model 3. Have you actually tested / changed brake fluid before? If yes, then you already know that a high moisture, high snow environment means you need to change it more often. If not, then it is you who doesn't know what they're talking about.

Thanks. And not to sound like a total dunce, but you get it if you finance too, in full the first year (so 2024 tax return would include the 7500 even if only started making payments this year for five years)? Thanks again
Yes if you finance Tesla by March 2023 you can file for $7500 tax credit in 2024 . You still need to satisfy the income bracket and Tax liability.

Model Y is worth about 40K. Anything buying at this price need to have their brain check. Tesla raised their models over the years and now lowering them because they could not sell that's why their stock went down so much. They will drop much much much more.

Even with the discount ton available on the website. Just tells you the demand isn't there for this anymore. I will say more price cuts coming.

Except best in class infotainment system and top notch speaker, one of biggest back seat legroom and one of fastest acceleration. But go on, keep hating. Instead of thread crap why not just move along. We get it. You like your loud obnoxious ice dinosaur car.
