Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

They are activated by camera. Which ones have similar feature can preemptive tighten before Tesla?
Considering Tesla's cameras crash cars into all manners of objects I don't want their software determining when a crash is going to occur.

if I buy it now, will income for year 2022 be considered or 2023 or lesser (2022, 2023)

For the AGI limit you can use 22 or 23, whichever is lower.

For tax burden to offset with the credit you have to use the year you take delivery of the vehicle.

Only on the standard range version, which I don't even see listed on the website right now. The rest use NCA cells.

AFAIK those have only been available as inventory cars-never as orderable

Leasing avoids the income cap as long as you find a good leasing company as those will pass the full credit on to the lease holder via lower payments

If you have a basic tax situation, $67k per year results in about $7500 in federal taxes owed. You're comfortably above that so you should be able to max out the rebate.
Thanks. I'm looking into this a lot deeper now. Peace

My favorite part about Tesla's is knowing the minerals used in the batteries were dug up by slave labor in the congo.

There aren't enough charge stations to realistically adopt an electric vehicle to drive cross country compared to gas fueled vehicles.
Unless you drive a tesla. Then it's EZPZ. Tesla even makes it idiot proof by including supercharging on your route map.

Just ordered. Any deals for tesla model Y accessories?
Congrats! I feel floor mats are absolutely necessary. I have both Tesla one and MAXpider, and I like MAXpider better. Also you want cell phone mount. I like top fit mount plus using separate MagSafe wireless charger to hold it in place. Good luck.

Plot twist: your iphone along with the TV you use have the same shit in them. Welcome to the slave world.

It's fascinating that it appears the average income of a SDer is $400k+ year. Amazing stuff.
