Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

And keep in mind that this post is on a Tesla hate subreddit that (like most subreddits) actively censors any posts or comments that do not conform to their agenda.

Reddit used to be a good source of information, but those days are long gone. All it is now is a series of echo chambers.

Have a Silverado EV reservation at the moment, but chances are it will be the same siht show. Agree on the powerwall but I decided on a cheapo generator instead. The cost to update my electrical panel for powerwall costs too much.
Hear that buddy. I have inver genny & transfer switch but not nearly same. This seemed next level. But I see more Rivian in wild than lightning, Ford planning failed. Still long $F! laugh out loud

Lol, are you saying that even with the sickening one pedal braking you would have chosen the Model Y if you could buy it for $43k?
I heard it can be disabled

I realize that. I have been shopping for a Civic for several months. I was just being conservative and saying $26k (msrp). It is a no brainer to buy the Tesla Model 3 at $34k instead of a $30k Civic.
do clean cars for 9500 + cvrp for 7500 after feb 28th.. no brainer

Yes. I got the grey Model Y and I qualified for NJ charge up incentive. Got $2k off my final payment.

Tesla could charge $140,000 for the model Y like a mercedes MQB and probably not have this happen.. but thats for people born into wealth

I would never spend $100k for an F-150. You can get a fully loaded three quarter ton for under $100k last time I checked around covid 2020. Diesel engine and all the creature comforts in the cab.
Intelligent backup (bidirectional) is a game changer Tesla will be stubborn to support. Unfortunately F beholden to shit legacy dealers, supply shortage & piss-poor guidance.

Thanks for sharing.. I wished Musk will refund the difference for those who bought it within a month. But as few people mentioned in the article, I will be happy if they offer Full Self-Driving Capability for those buyers even though I don't really need it. Hopefully that will give some value to the car and Tesla doesn't need to spend more other than updating the software for the car.

Does the total cost include destination fee to be below 55k for tax credit eligibility? With destination fee mine is just over 55k.

Not a bad idea.
Actually it's a great idea. Go on Twitter and ask Mr. Musk about that.
