Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I like Tesla's; but you can get TWO updated 2023 Toyota Corolla's *or* two 2023 Honda Civics for the same price. And no amount of Tesla 0-60 or no-gas savings beat a pair of aces. Yes two whole cars for your family to drive.

https://www.consumerreports.org/b...288866980/

If a good new Tesla was only a few thousand more ($29K?) then price (with fuel saving) would be equal to one of the pair. And I would jump all over it.

And I think Tesla has overcome a lot of unfair anti-competitive resistance; making them cost to much.
Instead of 2 Corollas, why not get 20 horses? You can have your whole family, extended family, friends, all saving money by riding your horses.

After 3 delays by Tesla, I canceled my 11/2021 order in October when they started to harass me to pick up the car after just one week notice. Told the cocky ass "rep" to go eat a "dck" and took a $250 write off. Was pissed but now it's peanut compared to what you guys lost. The last straw with Tesla for me was driving a friend's model 3 in seattle and it started dumping rain while i had to fiddled around dangerously on the freeway blind trying to located and press the farking wiper mode function on the screen.
Who cares dude

Did you see the $2k charge up incentive credit in your initial order agreement (I believe that is the first "thank you for your order" email)? I order mine but I do not see the $2k credit but my process has not gotten to the final payment part yet.
You will see as part of the final payment.

Haha funny you referred to a non-California state as a s******* state. That's hilarious.

Everyone here knows California is the s******* state. And that has nothing to do with politics. It's a s*** hole.

When people are leaving a state and drove, I can only draw one conclusion:. It's a s******* state

Anyone know if NC offers any further incentives to junk my ICE or buy EV. Can't seem to find anything but the federal credit. Wishing they had something like NJ does.

The credit is nonrefundable, so you can't get back more on the credit than you owe in taxes. You can't apply any excess credit to future tax years. So this means this is not good for people get refund.

what does line 24 say on your 1040... if its higher than 7500.. you're gona maximized it.. and ffs.. read the pages.. stop being lazy or search bar
Or giving bad advice. You do NOT take line 24. Per form 8936, The starting point is line 18.

Row 20: Enter the amount from Form 1040, 1040-SR, or 1040-NR, line 18 . . . . . . .
Row 21: Personal credits from Form 1040, 1040-SR, or 1040-NR (see instructions) . . . .
Row 22: Subtract line 21 from line 20. If zero or less, enter -0- and stop here. You cannot claim the personal use part of the credit

It has nothing to do with whether you get a refund or not

It's your total federal income tax that has to be over 7500 to get the full credit

I ordered one that was in inventory Friday morning around 830am. Two hours later all the inventory cars in NJ below 55k ( for NJ rebate) were gone. LR Model Y, midnight gray, black and white interior. 54600 NJ rebate of 2k, no sales tax for EV in NJ. Out of pocket $8250. Leased ( I don't qualify for credit due to MAGI limits). $505 a month. I pick it up 10 hours from now. Also the residual on the lease is 37k (though no option to buy). So it seems they lowered residual proportionately with discount.
Oh nice, so you selected from available inventory and that sped it up, makes sense.

I was in a rush and did the "Order Now", so I am assuming mine has to be built. Oh man, hope it doesn't take too long. I also ordered mine on Friday before noon. By time I checked the inventory later that afternoon, all the model Y < 55k were gone.
