Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Right, because they don't do this for a living.

Just because something doesn't "make sense" to you doesn't mean it isn't true.

I shouldn't trust what they say, but rather some random person pontificating on the internet. OK

I love how Tesla fanbois just dismiss something as "doesn't make sense"
go buy your 6k marked up honda civic if tesla is triggering u that much and uncle joe wont give u 7500 tax credit

I'm so confused about this tax credit. Line 24 of my taxes is over $7500. Is it just a reduction of that number? Basically I just want to know if I'm actually saving $7500.

I ordered model 3 performance. We are getting rid of our ICE sedan in its place. We have SUV for trips and when more room is needed.

One of the first steps in making a sustainable battery value chain is to understand where all materials in a battery cell come from, which is harder than one might think. A battery cell is mainly made up of a cathode, anode, separator, and electrolyte, and each of these parts is made of several different materials that need to be processed.

After test driving both, went for M3P. Showing Jan/Feb estimated delivery date.
I have large family, but 3 sedans suit us well. Got rid of a minivan 5 years ago, never missed it. Few times we needed to go somewhere with 6 or more people we took 2 cars.
My second choice was M3 RWD, almost bought it 3 months ago for what M3P costs today.

Again, another fanboi who just dismisses facts because they "don't make sense" to them

This is why the Tesla threads end up the way they do. Hmmm wonder why
that's funny, you are thread crapping but asking why every thread turns into crap...

For all you who ordered a new Model 3 or Model Y (sorry, can't say M3, as I used to own an E90 M3), make sure to budget for essential accessories/upgrades:

-window tint, ~$700 if you want to tint the roof. I would say this is a must for car with so much glass, but I have also heard the roof glass blocks a lot of heat/UV. And you can optionally tint your windshield, with legality unlikely. ~$400 for window tint, ~$300 for roof tint, ~$200 for windshield tint.
-all weather mats, $150-$300, I heard the carpet mats are crappy, so you'll want WeatherTech or OEM Tesla, or something better.
-console organizers, $30-$50, helps your console not be a drunk drawer in your car.
-wheel covers, $150-$200, if you're not to keen on the aero covers, no need if you upgraded to 20"/performance wheels.
-PPF, too expensive for me, but you're looking at $$$, thousands.

Amazon, Aliexpress has many good options.

how do you pay taxes every year? do you not know how much the gov takes?

The first line should be above $7500, if its not then dont buy a tesla. If it is above $7500 then buy a tesla. Also pay an accountant at the end of the year because you will mess this up otherwise.

I ordered Sunday, the 15th in early AM PST. A family member ordered Saturday morning, and their order # was 20K before mine. So Tesla sold a ton on Saturday and Sunday for sure. Friday, some people bought, but I'm guessing many were still looking at details before pulling trigger like me.

I checked mine now, and it was January to March, now it's January 26-February 23. I'm in NorCal.
