Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Ordered a MYLR blue Order date: 1/18 7pm Location : SoCal EDD: April 2nd-may 14th. 😭😭😭

Doesn't look good for me for the tax credit. At this point they should update their website to reflect the longer lead times. What are the odds of this coming sooner?
Try the standard color, white if the $7500 is worth it.

For those who have been watching more closely than I have since the pricing drop -- does Tesla ever post base level Model Ys without add-ons (wheel upgrades, tow hitch, etc.) inventory for immediate delivery or do they always add those on to pad profit?

Debating getting one if I can get it by next month while waiting on my Rivian R1S to be available, but not interested in pushing out to March or April to wait for delivery on a custom order for the base level (yeah, I know - first world problems) and don't want or need any of the add-ons.
Yes, in the early days of the discount, there were several base Model Y LR with no add ons. Those have been scooped up however. I ordered one of those an inventory MY in blue on the 13th am picking it up on Monday *fingers crossed*

I have seen several people who purchased around 14-15th say that their update shows mid/late Feb through early/mid March. I am assuming if you order now, it would prob be late Feb-late March (or even later)

I ordered on the 13th and my Jan-March got updated to Jan30-Feb27
I booked on 14th it says delivery on jan 31 -feb 7th
Got the vin assigned on same day 😕

Estimated delivery now showing 1/29 to 2/05 and VIN number allocated.
Thanks to the community for the delivery checklist. Hoping for a smooth delivery experience.

This may have been asked already. Any pointers for a better financing rates? Anyone know what is the lowest that Tesla financing offers? Thanks in advance.

Some of the inventory are for those who had ordered them previously then declined their delivery due to it not qualifying for the $7,500 tax credit. You will notice most, if not all, of the inventory are priced above $55,000.

Nice! Thanks to you and everyone else who posted and hope your delivery goes great and you love the car!

Looks like I'm going to hold off on purchasing unless one pops up when I happen to be checking (which is probably the smarter move in my case anyways since I will hopefully be in the Rivian within the next 6-12 months based on my preorder date and current delivery estimate).

Thanks. I have DCU account. DCU gave me 4.99 with direct deposit and high mileage discount. If loan is 50K or less it seems to be soft pull and not hard pull on credit. Checking if any better options as I am ok with hard credit check.

You can check with other banks or local credit unions in the forum the credit only drops once due to this pulls.. Creditiors know you are shoping for rates i think its like for a month it only drops once if multiple lenders pulls credit for auto loan..
