Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Tesla Fremont Factory, CA, US
Gigafactory 1 (officially named Giga Nevada) in Storey County, Nevada, U.S.
Gigafactory 2 (officially named Giga New York), in Buffalo, New York, U.S. (produce solar panels and solar cells)
Gigafactory 3 (officially named Giga Shanghai), in Pudong, Shanghai, China
Gigafactory 4 (officially named Giga Berlin), in Grünheide, state of Brandenburg (near Berlin), Germany
Gigafactory 5 (officially named Giga Texas), in Austin, Texas, U.S.
Gigafactory 6 (planned), in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, México
Does one build factory have better quality than another in the US. I am guessing G1 serves West/Mid coast and G5 serves East coast ? I thought I heard somewhere the Austin location is doing a better job with quality control ?

I have custom order and delivery date is March 14th -March 31st, today I found the same car in inventory and it's asking to pay the $250 dollars again. Is there a way to avoid paying $250 again if it's available in inventory

Are you high or what. BMW is better in any way as a car. What performance are you talking. 0-60, cornering what performance. Or for you performance is only 0-60.
I assume your taking about the Model Y but you should see the M3 Performance on the track
Its no slouch and beats the beloved BMW M3.

i got Austin build car, and i am in CA. it is mostly the luck of a draw if your order model y (i believe 3/S/X is only at Fremont)

in term of quality, if Tesla does what everyone does, then it shouldn't matter (but obviously they don't so it does matter). if you have a choice. tesla shanghai factory product more than half of the entire tesla sold world wide, so if you have a choice...

If anyone is interested in hard numbers to figure out how much less expensive it is now compared to Tesla's best deal of 2022 - $7,500 discount with 10,000 free Supercharger miles - I bought a Tesla Model Y Long Range 7-Seater with white interior in late December 2022.

Excluding taxes and fees, I paid $63,940. It's now $59,630, which is $4,310 less, and it is eligible for the $7,500 tax credit. That means if I didn't buy it in December and bought it today, I would have saved $11,810 + sales tax, so a bit over $12,000 in savings I missed. (I got 10,000 Supercharger miles, which is worth somewhere between $500 and $1,000.) With taxes and fees, I paid $71,578.55 in total.

For those who do order, I recommend this Tesla Prep guide [glideapp.io] to check for build quality issues on delivery day.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

They only extended it until March, not the end of March. So you have to take delivery in January or February. We don't know what happens after that. Maybe they release their new guidance and its lowered to $3750, and maybe they kick the can further down the road.

lol. No, I do not recommend paint protection film (PPF), but did consider it for weeks and can see why some people want it on their car. I don't consider my car an investment.

Out of curiosity, did I give off vibes that I would recommend PPF and that think of my car as an investment?

Take care,
Tofu Vic
