Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

My estimate delivery date is Jan 25 - Feb 8,
#1, do I need to start apply the loan with my local credit union now or wait till the VIN assigned? (credit union rate is way better than tesla's)
#2, I didn't buy the mobile charger when i placed the order, do I need to buy one now or just pick it up from the service center on the delivery day, this is not something on the "short supply" category, right?

thanks for any comments..

0-60 is only one aspect of a car's performance.

How much did this cost? How far from breaker? And where do u live?
Just an FYI to Sunny's comment.

You can install the wall connector just fine with a 50amp circuit. A lot of folks do as the charging difference between 50 and 60 is negligible when charging overnight.

Out of curiosity - those who are ordering, are you getting the Enhanced Autopilot or FSD?

I'm not interested in FSD, but the Enhanced Autopilot seems like a popular option.

You can't apply without a vin.

I placed a separate order for the mobile charger after I got est time and vin. Don't want to go home without one in case they don't have stock at the store.

do monthly subscription first $200/month to try out see if it fits in your driving situation. EAP/FSD only useful if you do a lot of local traffic stop and go, for highway the basic autopilot will merge with EAP/FSD so they will be more or less the same. You can cancel monthly subscription anytime.

You're right, it is not 36k. It is actually 34k in NJ after 7.5k federal tax credit, and 4k state rebate at point of sale. Plus no sales tax.

can you provide more details? i was considering it but won't if it'll be even less beneficial than it is now
Then do it now!

Basically, under current NEM2.0, you can use utility company as capacity unlimited battery to save electricity from your solar and use it later. Under new NEM3.0, you unused electricity from solar would be accepted at (for example with PG&E) 8 cents, when you use later, you have to pay full retail price starts from 33 cents.

NJers really have it good (for once). My state offers a relatively measly EV rebate and the AGI phase outs are low. Argh.

I am sorry, I am a total newbie when it comes to circuitry.

Can you explain what the difference is, is it cheaper to get the 50amp installed, or is that standard or something?

When I was skimming through some articles, it seemed the mobile connector and NEMA 14-50 was a viable slightly slower alternative to the wall connector. Outside of that, I've no idea what I'm doing lol

Thanks in advance

Woke up in the middle of night, actually early morning and found this post and here's my update:

Maryland

MYLR - 5 seat - 19" wheel -Blue exterior and Black interior - No Tow or FSD

Order Date: 1/13/2023 - 3:20 AM EST

Received email with VIN - 1/13/2023 - 8:40 AM EST

Delivery date assigned - 1/16/2023 or 1/17/2023

Didn't have auto loan in place, so rescheduled delivery for 1/19/2023.

Just picked it up today… no major issue with the vehicle… there seems to be hairline scratches on the trunk if u look closely, so may take it to Service center for fix.

VIN starts with 7SA and from what i could find from the VIN decode, it's a Austin built 2023 model.
I am guessting its Hardware 3.0 ?? Not sure what Tesla wants us to pay for going to Hardware 4.0 later on.
