Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

Dual motor helps extend range to a degree but technically it means there are two motors.

Model Y's with 4680 battery are still Dual Motor but are not long range.
They haven't even release the model Y with that battery yet. So op wouldn't even be able to get the car right now in the first place.

Alright, well as someone that has had BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus vehicles throughout my life, let me break it down for you. I am not anti-Tesla – as a matter of fact, I just became a Tesla shareholder (again) this week, so am hoping the company does well long-term and the stock price goes back to where it was when I sold. That being said, if you think that their quality of build is pristine, then I would like what you're smoking. It certainly wasn't the worst build I've seen, but it was similar to this individual's experience (https://imgur.com/gallery/hnanCZa) rather than what you're sharing – different Tesla model, similar experience. I honestly believe that as more car companies begin to roll out EV's, Tesla will be forced to ramp up quality which is something I'm looking forward to. They're just not there yet.
Go test drive the latest, refreshed Model S. I test drove it last month when I visited the Tesla sales center and was very impressed how the interior has improved so much from the prior refresh. Let me know after you test drive the latest Model S and tell me if you still think the quality is still subpar. The performance of Model S blows away BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and Lexus.

Did you ask the delivery advisor to show you how to close the frunk? it requires two hands for a new owner.
