Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

I am taking delivery tomorrow. All the documentation says the purchase price is $55,630 which includes the destination fee. I hope this does not cause issues for EV rebate.
Can anyone confirm destination fee is not included for the 55k limit?
From IRS website

MSRP is the retail price of the automobile suggested by the manufacturer, including options, accessories and trim but excluding destination fees. It isn't necessarily the price you pay.

lol wait a second, you have a 21 vw ID4pro and are going back to a gas car??

Man VW sucks ass haha, and theyre the only one that can make even a tenth as many EV as tesla. I guess tesla has nothing to worry about.
VW ID.4 itself isn't the issue. It's more of the charging network reliability; if you were to travel far distance and relying on Electrify America, you'll be in for a long wait or some broken chargers along the trip.

People financing this car, what are the current deals on auto loans?
5.34% from Tesla was the best offer for me. Everyone else was much more. I did not check any credit union's though.

I unknowingly ordered the model y standard range (279 miles EPA) from the inventory. Looks like this comes with 4680 cells. Anyone has this version and could you please share any differences and advantages of getting this vs long range.
Will Tesla offer to extend the range using a software update if I pay more?

CR lost all credibility equating panel gaps and paint to reliability:
" The Model Y still has body hardware issues with the tailgate and door alignment, paint defects".
What do those have anything to do with how reliable a car is??? And yet same article ranks Tesla having Highest customer satisfaction. There is all you need to know about owning a Tesla, super majority of customer is very happy and satisfied with the purchase.
Not to mention that's from 2021, qualify has since improved a ton. Haters gonna hate.

HaHa it's funny you say CR lost credibility by equating panel gaps to reliability.

They had to do that literally because of Tesla!!

Just look at all of the people in this thread that have picked up a vehicle with panel issues and everyone just says oh make a service appointment in the app and they will fix it.

So what is the difference if your car has to go in the shop 48 hours after pick up for panel gaps or something mechanical. It went into the shop or had on-site service soon after buying.

CR is just accounting for that. They just never had to before Tesla.

Tesla is dumping these cars without ultrasonic sensors as they ready the new hardware suite with hd radar. Will be a lot of sad early production 2023 model Y owners in a few months. Tesla basically just clearancing these out.

Tesla owners are sad regardless of the year.
Ask and you shall find, folks that had these for a couple of years and not afraid of the Tesla mob will let you know.

True. Tesla did not want to launch the hd radar last December because they had manufactured too many cars without USS, can't sell them fast enough. Tesla can't market the hd radar until all cars without USS gone.

Damn.. Just checked on Carvana and Vroom; offered $27K and $23K respectively for my '21 VW ID.4 Pro w/ 29K miles.

Guess I'll probably pass on the Tesla Model 3 and wait for the 2023 Toyota Prius LE AWD.
why you came here to tell that you gonna wait for prius ?
Never in my life seen a post where prius had this many likes and comments 😃
