Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

Custom Ordered on 1/13. Picked mine up today. Didn't really find any issue's. A bunch of people picked up today at the same time. They all seem to be happy. Nobody identified any major issues. Asked the rep about gap problems, he said the cars out of Austin have much less number of pieces so there isn't really any gap problem these days

Overall very happy with my purchase. Basically 46.5K for a LR model Y. Car is driving fantastic. Suspension is a bit rough over pot holes but I can live with that.
Congrats :-). I'll be picking up in Plano too on 01/31. Do we have to make payment (downpayment and load) before we go there for delivery?

If these cars are so smart, why do I see so many with wheel rash, especially noticeable on the black rims?
Because No 360 view camera. And now not even ultrasonic parking sensors in the 2023 model 3 and Y. Pretty soon you'll be able to tell the model year of the Model3&Y by just looking at the rims- wont even have to notice that there are no ultrasonic sensors hahaha. Sure, people will say they don't need it. But they'll be parking slow, especially if they are OCD about scratches and scuffs. Quite hilarious to have such a high tech vehicle lack basic parking tech. Reminds me of the iphone several years ago when it lost signal by holding it the wrong way! Fanboys will polish any turd to feel better about a bad purchase. Looking forward to see what Tesla does with the HD radar and massive hardware upgrade later in 2023 though. Hoping the new tech makes it into my cybertruck.

The purchase agreement has the below. How much these will be and how do we pay them? Do we need to pay them at the time of delivery using credit card or wire transfer?

"Price indicated does not include taxes
and governmental fees, which will be
calculated as your delivery date nears.
You will be responsible for these
additional taxes and fees."

Also, how do we make the payment (down payment + loan payment), at the time of delivery or before going to take the delivery?

Thanks, I thought I can claim this $7500 credit when I fill my 2022 tax return before April later this year. I guess I have to wait until next year then. thanks for the info.

Sorry for the dumb question. When I try to order MY , the price including the midnight silver is coming to $53990 and total including destination fee and order fee is $55630 which is above the cap of $55000. So, am I not eligible to get the tax credit?

So do we need to complete the finance section in the app for the delivery to progress or we can take sometime to complete?
