Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

For my TMY delivery, the loan payment was made by the bank to Tesla. When should make the remaining payment (down payment). Should I pay now or it's better to check the vehicle in the delivery day and then pay the balance?

Hi All. I see lowest price for model Y is $56,490. Looks like Tesla increase their prices and no longer eligible for $7500 tax credit?
The long range is still $53490

Gas burner cost less to drive than a EV. So much for that I'm saving money claim. https://www.yahoo.com/autos/drivi...00887.html [yahoo.com]
I live in LA...let's assume I pay $4.09/gallon, which is the cheapest in town (not including Ralphs/Shell etc...)...most people will pay close to $4.40+ because they're not driving around or using the GasBuddy app.

I drove to SB and, using the Plugshare app, was able to find DC chargers for .15/kwh...cost about $4 to put 100 miles on my car.

My ICE vehicle, a Forester, gets excellent highway mileage...about 35/mpg.

Thats around $12 for the same distance.

Last time I checked, $4 was a lot less than $12 on a percentage basis.

Even at home, with Tier 2 LADWP rates at .25/kwh, it's substantially less.

Factor in the occasional free charge at hotels with chargers (overnight stay of course), free chargers at various spots throughout the city and it isn't really a contest.

You get the Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement (MVPA) from the Tesla website (not app) after you've been assigned a ViN. The PoA is available in the docs section of Tower's Loan Status page and you will need to print it out, add any missing details, sign, notarize, and mail it to Tower.
Thanks for the detailed reply. I located the docs on Tesla website and upload them to Tower.
When I click on documents next to my Vehicle Loan Application it shows "
No Available Documents for Vehicle Loan Application #" I am guessing they have not uploaded the POA yet?

I sent Tower a message that the doc was missing

Oh. Mine has it right there. Others have said they have it available on the Tower website and can be downloaded, but of course you will need to fill out more details. Mine has my loan officer's info, year/make/model, etc. filled in, but nothing you couldn't answer yourself if you know who your loan officer is.

Not yet. I had my Chex Systems record locked and since I couldn't find my PIN, I'm waiting on getting a new one in the mail before I can reach back to Tower and have them finish my membership application. I see no reason why it wouldn't be approved though.

Mind you- it ranked 9 points out of 10 in actual functionality.

It got dinged in overall ranking because it wasn't doing enough nannying of the driver.

CR even made a point of painting the fact Teslas system works in far more places as a negative because the dumb driver might turn it on in the wrong place--- while much more babying systems like Fords just won't activate anywhere except specific highways.
I think that nannying is to help people from getting killed. Might be important.
