Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I was considering this, but I decided to buy my elderly parents' 2014 Honda CRV with 14000 miles instead for $6000. Why do I feel like a dodged a huge bullet?
I would personally hold off if you are just placing the order as there will be new guidelines (maybe) for march so its too late at this point unless another news comes out soon about what are the tax guidelines

Regardless of what happens Tesla will have match boxes to fit folks who make less than 300k and more likely they will adding more after sales options to create decent demand moving forward. With competition picking up this year.. they are done with their artificial price increase antics.. thanks to IRA.

Did you order the complete set including the storage (front & rear)? If so, how much did you spend?
Got this one... just the front/rear, not for trunk/frunk/storage... $110.

When I placed the order, I never knew car buying could be so simple and easy...after 2 weeks, I am realizing buying a Tesla is different kind of stress. Now checking the Tesla app every 2 hrs for any kinda of update on EDD.

I only hope they at least get 3500, there very high likely hood some might not get the full 7500. 🤷 Personally they shouldn't have given Tesla any credit. Musk wanted bring cheap China made model to flood US market and make billions.. greedy duck!!

Hasn't that been the US business model for the past 50 years?

We have to change and Change for good. Enough of all these external reliance non-sense. In way IRA is forcing company like Teslas, GMs to build Geo Centric supply chains. Tesla knows they won't and can't survive in China market beyond a decade max (I would be surprised if they last even a decade there). It would be helpful if Tesla makes more meaningful mass-friendly products like HVACs for us than trying to build a roadster that can kills its drivers in 2 sec acceleration 😆. They have to start looking at meaningful goals.. not some fluffy duckry

BTW both Ford and GM exited India after 2 decades of wasting US Tax dollars and killing auto jobs, just ask anyone in Michigan about what and how it transpired.

Ford and GM exited india but Toyota and Honda are minting money in India. American companies don't know how to do busy I guess in other parts of the world. Ford had only one model in india which was good others never got traction. Tesla is a different though because of technology doubt Chinese companies can caught up fast with Tesla though.

Honda is on the verge of merging with a bigger player. Toyota is surviving on cheap and HVM models. Tesla doesn't have both and in China BYD is way ahead in terms of local network just like TATAs in India.
