Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I have a hard time to park my tiny car garage. Tesla is design for backing parking not head on park. Also a hard time in downtown street parallel parking. Not much different for old time car 2000 Honda civic.
Ohh okay, but from the rumors from threads i have heard they will implement an birds eye view for the tesla since they already have cameras on the sides back and front. Lets see if thats possible i dont see why not since they already have the hardware and software to do so ...

That article is correct. I listened to the Q4 presser. But don't undercut the 2024 is the when real production will begin. And then when will it be available for non CT vehicles? The only thing that worries me about my MYLR purchase is MYAWD being released here in the coming months with 4680 structural pack and HW4. But then half rebate is the max if that.

The mobile charger I ordered along with my MYLR just shipped out. Does that mean I'll be getting my car real soon? Still no VIN tho
You have a deliver date in the app but no VIN? I got VIN and then delivery date. Need VIN to setup insurance and loan.

Are the prices gonna increase for the 4680 and HW4 if we already ordered MYLR in Jan ?

We don't know if the rebate will be cut in half. In fact, LG is saying they will build cells for Tesla too. I would be surprised if Tesla doesn't get the full rebate.

There has been no discussion about MYLR getting 4680. 4680 is mostly a cost savings/increased production step for Tesla. Though people claim the 4680 structural pack reduces vehicle weight and is more quiet due to a different frame. First vehicle to go 4680 will be MYAWD (not LR). When we will see this as an option to order is anyones guess. If you want more info you have to read Chinese sources as they are released there

The MYLR will get 4680s, eventually. But it could literally be years.

The rebate isn't just about batteries produced here but also where their materials are sourced. Last year I did a deep dive into this and people in the industry questioned how it would be possible to meet the laws requirements. The only thing good to come from the law is we can get full rebate until the Treasury evaluates (March). But the White House has been strongly behind the bill and I do see it becoming more easy to meet.

You can always wait more. Everything in life is a gamble. Maybe by Thanksgiving the rebate will still be on and cheaper MYAWD will be available with 4680s. I don't think it will have HW4 though. I think the CT will be the first for that.

I just said there has been no discussion. But MYAWD do exist with 4680s so we know thats a thing. Just very rare in the US currently.

This was great. Bought the stock instead of the car. Crushed it. Lol
I don't need a car but wish I had bought the stock before the earnings call! 400 shares, $14,000 profit in 2 days & climbing.

I am in the process now but not completed the loan/funding.
Have been preapproved and submitted all the documents including notary.
The preapporaval times seem to vary but mine was just a few days.
The membership though is still in Referred status. If you thinking to use them don't wait its for sure a week to 2 week process and not instant like with Tesla.

If Tesla doesn't qualify, then I don't think anyone will. And I doubt they made the rebate in such a way no one can qualify for it. Tesla already uses very low amounts of cobalt, for example, in their NCA cells.

I have a day 1 order for CT. Pretty sure I won't see it before mid 2024 at soonest
