Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

One of my close friend bought 1000x Tesla stock at 116$ about 3 weeks ago. He told me one hour ago that he sell all tesla stocks and use his profit to order a new MY LR this morning (by the way, he doesn't care the half Federal tax rebate after March 2023) Smilie

I am in the process now but not completed the loan/funding.
Have been preapproved and submitted all the documents including notary.
The preapporaval times seem to vary but mine was just a few days.
The membership though is still in Referred status. If you thinking to use them don't wait its for sure a week to 2 week process and not instant like with Tesla.
Here is what Tower rep said me don't worry if it didn't happen early just take dealer finance and keep us updated and we can switch from purchase to refinance easy..
sounds good but just worried about the 7500 rebate does it get affected due to refinance anyone aware?

The federal tax credit of $7500 because its post tax would be like having a short term capital gain of $11000 on $30000 worth of tesla shares (about 33% gain)

Your friend basically had the same performance as everyone who got the federal tax rebate. Except kind of worse, because he invested $116,000 and has to pay prob 40% taxes on it.

I wouldn't want to pay the short-term capital gains on that! Nice $60,000 profit. Hopefully he bought it in a tax sheltered account & has the available cash. Hope he enjoys his new car!

No your financing and the rebate have no relation. The rebate is based on separate factors posted in the OP. Just make sure you stay below the 55K for the MSRP (i.e careful on colors and options).

For those stock investors, TSLA isn't much different than the other momentum/ARK stocks that got killed last year.

Heck, Lucid was up nearly 100% today alone!

Shopify, Wayfair, Coinbase have all doubled off their lows last fall.

Even Casino stocks like LVS and WYNN are up nearly 100% from their 22 lows.

As always, its timing (virtually impossible) and sector selection which determines market outperformance...TSLA is just one of many.

Question on tax credit. I am planning to register MYLR with my name and cousin name and we both reside in same state. When I file tax returns can I claim full EV federal tax credit as I fall below IRS threshold limit. (Note: Cousin doesn't qualify for EV credit as income is more than IRA limits)

Do you mind sharing your down payment and rate? I just submitted today and once I receive preapproval, I'll apply for membership which costs $35 for application I believe? MYLR is expected 2/6-2/13.

Search here or speak with an accountant.

I have a hard time to park my tiny car garage. Tesla is design for backing parking not head on park. Also a hard time in downtown street parallel parking. Not much different for old time car 2000 Honda civic.
Yep. Gotta love the turd polishers that say "if you know how to park you dont need it". Sure I dont "need" it but there are a lot of features on tesla I don't "need". Fact is a parking sensor suite is nice. Especially if its 360 camera parking

If Tesla doesn't qualify, then I don't think anyone will. And I doubt they made the rebate in such a way no one can qualify for it. Tesla already uses very low amounts of cobalt, for example, in their NCA cells.

I have a day 1 order for CT. Pretty sure I won't see it before mid 2024 at soonest
That's essentially the interpretation of the bill. No manufacturer will fully qualify and certainly not as the law matures and becomes even more stringent. Which puts us in an interesting situation where we get full rebate until Treasury weighs in. And I bet they are much more currently tied up in the debt ceiling complication.

If you listen to the Q4 presser yesterday, ya you're not getting a CT until 2024 for sure. He doesn't say exactly but the CT will be a first for so many things, issues will have to get worked out in the most nontransparent way that tesla thrives at.

I decided to pull the trigger on the MYLR and have a VIN but I really don't need the LR and the MYAWD intrigues me but who knows when Austin will switch to them especially with their current orders so I guess MYLR it is.

I didn't understand the need for sensors until I bought a new SUV. The blind spots are real! Without cross traffic & blind spot monitors you are doomed. The backup camera is good enough for backing into a garage or parking space. I have no experience with Tesla, they may not have blind spots and if they don't, I could live without the sensors.

2.99 for 60 months

Not sure down payment matters but I did just over 20% personally
