Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Yep. Gotta love the turd polishers that say "if you know how to park you dont need it". Sure I dont "need" it but there are a lot of features on tesla I don't "need". Fact is a parking sensor suite is nice. Especially if its 360 camera parking
2024 MX & MS will be also removing the USS. They won't be apart of any further functionality and will be limited. You're a baby holding onto your pacifier. They've made their decision. Which I also disagree with especially since it only costs them $150. Hell I want rear radar also but they turned that off also and it improved safety. Tesla is a forward moving company. If you don't like it then there are plenty of ionic 5's for you.

Got VIN assigned today with updated delivery of 2/10-2/17.to Ohio ( was originally 2/5 - end of March.) Looks like built in Fremont based on VIN.

Why don't you update the headline price to the new $500 higher price, $53,490?

It'll probably go up again if demand continues to be double production capabilities.

$500 is spare change to a Tesla buyer.

What's the best place to sell or trade in your current vehicle? I've tried carvana and vroom; offers were somewhat low.

TIP...Are you waiting for a VIN still? I'll let you in on a secret. Put in some work and keep refreshing this link. Call the location with the vehicle and have them attach it to your order. Your price won't go up. You have to be fast!!! You're not the only one doing this. It took me 3 times but 3rd was a charm. Other two times the vehicle got assigned to someone else while he was trying.

Change your zip code. But they can put in a move request for you. 93437 isn't my zip code but there's a base white MYLR just sitting there at my zip code. Waiting for you to get it

So, is this thread officially now for who ordered already and waiting on loans, deliveries, accessories info etc.

Or anyone still "thinking" of buying? :-)

$500 increase and unsure if it can be delivered before March..

Tesla is incredibly fast at making cars. People are getting their cars in weeks. The $500 was to slow it down, if they want to slow it down more they will up the price by another $500

Tesla was higher for me than those two. I'm debating to try private sale since my vehicle has a 8yr 100k mile full warranty and a separate rust proofing, paint, and interior warranty. It's just hard as your trade in done at the time of sale decreases your taxable sale amount e.g.
53K tesla * 0.07 = $3,700 tax
vs
53k tesla - 25k trade in = $28k * 0.07 = $2,000 tax.

The $500 was to reduce customization options to produce vehicles faster so more can take advantage of the rebate

So your saying find a inventory model that matches what you have and have them transfer it to your account? This would only work for cars in your own state right? Or I guess I don't fully understand

I think so. I tried to transfer a out of State car last week to my pick up location, and the rep said no can do.

I am in the process now but not completed the loan/funding.
Have been preapproved and submitted all the documents including notary.
The preapporaval times seem to vary but mine was just a few days.
The membership though is still in Referred status. If you thinking to use them don't wait its for sure a week to 2 week process and not instant like with Tesla.
hi, how long does your pre-approval last?

I asked the Tesla staff and they said you have to get available cars within 200 miles of your zip code. They cannot move vehicle further than 200 miles even though it's within same state. For example in CA, vehicles available in San Francisco cannot be delivered to San Diego. But, you can assign VIN and fly to SF to pickup vehicles.
