Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Could someone clarify if destination fee is part of the MSRP ?
Earlier Model Y used to be 52990 + 1390 + 250 = 54630
But now it's 53490 + 1390 + 250 = 55130 (above the 55k limit ?)

Nevermind, seems like it has been already answered and it's not part of the MRSP.

Is there any where I can buy new Model Y at a dealership for $55,000? I am late to this game and would like to buy one but delivery date for Atlanta is March 2023, which could be end of March. Any help would be great.

Or ask someone who maybe thinking to cancel due to whatever reason and willing to move order under your name (I am assuming it is doable).

how you text Tesla associate? just reply the number they sent you the "VIN ready" text?
For Tower, it was my understanding that we can simply email them the doc or upload to the link provided. Where did you get your notary? I tried going to UPS store; however, they said they don't notarize POAs.

I honestly don't think they could have been any more clear.

took delivery at the delivery center today, think about share some information for the first time tesla buyers
1. if you were paying cash, it is actually a two step process. in the final payment page, you first link a bank with sufficient fund, then once it is added, it is another step to pay. so you could link the bank first before you decide to pay. it is important to know that the bank you adding must have sufficient amount, or else it doesn't let you add (which was why i was confused and thought the bank adding and payment might be the same step, but it is actually two steps)
2. all tesla i saw today have some sort of panel gaps, and they are all inconsistent.. but with in the 5mm tesla spec. it is actually not terrible but it is noticeable (i have the austin car, and i don't think the quality is any better than fremont)
3, paint. mine came with two paint defects, maybe i am unlucky but for a what is supposed to be improved production line, this is pretty poor quality wise.
4. that said, my car has no rattle nor wind noise whatsoever, so the car is well put together interior wise.
5. the benefit of pick up in person is that as long as the car is not outside of the lot, you have not accepted the vehicle. so if you have any issues that you want to reject, pick up in person is the only way.
6. but if you were going to keep the vehicle, then there is no difference between pick up in person or delivery to your drive way. sales agent won't rectify any issues you have, you have to book via service center before you car hit first 100 miles (that's when you can point out any issues)

over all, very satisfied experience, in and out in 30 minutes (most time was waiting for the temporary license plate) i would not go back the the traditional dealership after this. in fact, next time i would just take drive way delivery.
Could you be a little more specific on your paint issues? I'm still under 100 mi so I'd like to really check it out
