Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Reddit disagrees as people are getting quotes that are higher. Add in homeowners insurance premium goes up after a solar install.
My homeowners didn't go up after solar. Increasing coverage is your own prerogative depending on how much you think it will cost to rebuild. I'd rather go low than go high especially because it directly impacts CEA rate.

Let me try this one more time. Unfortunately, an age-old process is becoming a rocket science.

When you own a high-depreciation asset. You try to own it at the lowest cost possible for the longest period to make it meaningful. Car is 1 such thing. DON'T GET CARRIED AWAY..with useless arguments about I can make my money work elsewhere during that time. We are not living in the MEME economy.
LMAO Yeah, we wouldn't wanna get carried away with those useless points like making money with money while discussing money and cost! LMAO

Has anyone had any recent experience with Tower CU funding timing ?
My loan application was approved first, then yesterday the membership was approved.
Hoping they can fund my loan to Tesla by the 17th at the latest but wanted to hear from others on what the funding time is once membership is approved? Do I need to hound them daily or its a quick process from here on out?

I have never dealt with Tower Credit Union. But I can't imagine why they wouldn't be able to fund you if you're already approved. I'm just curious to hear from others on this. I don't see myself even considering them from what I've read, but I'm curious.

If say for example I pay $0 in tax next year, does that mean I get none of the $7500 tax credit?
Unfortunately, that would be the case. So most middle incomers will qualify but may not necessarily receive the whole credit.

I hope your right brother. I am with you with my share of fast fun cars, hoping the M3P is as fun to drive as people have mentioned. The BMW M3 Non aspirated models where amazing cars.

2004 Subaru WRX STI
RX-7 (Forget the year) bought it used, the previous owner tuned it up so much it scared me sometime laugh out loud
2002 IS300
2012 G37x
2016 BMW X5M
Can't we all just get along? LOL.

I'm personally in my middle-age years, so I can easily afford this car, or a higher performance car like a real M3. All cars are different, and can be enjoyable. Even performance is subjective.

My old '95 Civic was fun to drive when the V-Tec kicked in.
mid-2000's Subaru WRX STi was also insanely fun. The low RPM torque once the turbo kicked.
E90 M3 was awesome, full power band, awesome handling.
Tesla is also awesome for instant torque, quick 0-60 times.

For anyone who transferred recently ,How are you guys being able to find anything in the inventory thats under 55k? Everything I see is over 55k? Am I missing something ?
Inventory is changing constantly throughout the day so I usually popped on 4-5x per day to check. Narrowed my search down to MYLR seven seater or M3LR. There was actually a number of the, that came up during my few days of search but i passed based upon features (white seats) or external color. Every market is going to be different though, this was in Arizona.

Key word being ESTIMATE.
Do we want approximate updates as to when we might get our cars, or do we want 'maybe middle of the year' ?

I'd rather have slightly higher estimate that truthfully indicates a delay than no info or wrong info.

Ordered Model Y on 1/14 with White/Black and changed the config to White/White on 1/25, the estimate today changed to 2/20 - 3/20 from 1/31 to 2/10. Called the customer support and they told those estimates are meant to change. She told the latest I can get is March 1st week.

Tower gets major brownie points from me. My loan processor was scheduled to be out of the office the remainder of the week for a funeral, but he calls me today and finishes up the funding process for delivery of my MYLR on Friday. If he hadn't have done this I would have had to pay cash and then go through a re-finance process.

I'm assuming you are with Geico, had the same shock when I added Tesla Y, they add something called Mechanical Breakdown insurance which raises premium considerably, not sure how significant is that, so I switched to different carrier without that coverage, now its on par with other vehicles, something to look for,

Curious where you came out and where you're located... my 6 month premium is now around 1k at Geico.
