Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I got the message asking me to schedule for delivery? Questions for those with the experience:

1. If I cancel it, what would I loose? How to get the deposit back?
2. If I decide to delay, how much longer can I delay?

TIA
Text them back they will give you options.

If you cancel you will loose $250 deposit. You cannot get your deposit back from Tesla, it is nonrefundable. Some people suggested creating dispute through Credit Card company, maybe you can get it back that way.

As far as I know you can reject delivery two times before Tesla cancels your order.

Tesla doesn't even call it a 'deposit'. It's call and 'order fee'. Which means you're even going to have a hard time with a CC dispute. You place an order, you pay a fee. Tesla did indeed order a car for you, so service was provided.

My product page on the website no longer shows an option to select another model from the inventory.

Anyone else see that ?

I still don't have my VIM

1/18 MY Blue no options; NJ
Not sure what you're trying to do. If you have an existing order, you can open up the app, and click "Manage" under your Order # at the top left, and it should take you to Tesla website, where you can check from the "Accelerated Delivery Available" link for existing inventory.

Or if you want to just browse existing inventory, go to the Model Y product page, and scroll down and there should be link to view existing inventory. There are a bunch of Austin Model Y AWD (non LR) available in many locations.

Or if you're looking to edit your config, I believe you must contact Tesla via chat or phone to get that done. This only allows to edit your Model Y, not switch to a different model, i.e. Model 3. That would require a separate order from what I am seeing from others.

Costco sells their own or third party?
Costco is American family Ins. I just quoted slightly less than Geico at $150/mo just now. Farmers was higher with less bodily coverage.

I'm in Indy. Mine went from 254/6mo to 715/6mo with progressive. I switched to Costco which has me at 504/6mo 300k/100k 500 deductible with rental car coverage. I expected it to go up due to the vehicle value essentially doubling, but I didn't expect triple the price.
you were paying $254/6mo for current car? I'm almost willing to bet that's for collision only not including comprehensive, so it's not really a valid comparison. $500/6mo sounds about right.

If Tesla offers insurance in your State, go with that... at least for me, Tesla insurance was the least for me. Otherwise, shop around.

I would check, $500 a month seems outrageous even for drivers with points on their record. $500/6 months seems more likely.

Thanks a lot for the details. What I want to do is see if something similar is readily available and if so, move to that.

I have been checking daily so have the webpage in my mind. When i go to manage the order, i no longer see the "Accelerated Delivery Available" button. This way the 2-3 options that Tesla shows are free to select and no order fee is taken. But yea this option seems dead foy my case now. Dont know why

I can browse the inventory and all but if i see something I like, this is like placing a new order since it charges me an order fee again.
