Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Wait so let me get this straight. if I order a Model Y Performance with black paint and white interior... the total approximate is $61k... this still qualifies for the $7500 federal credit???

yes if you can get it by March. I would just pick one closer in the inventory bank....

Should we be worried at locking interest rate at Tower CU or GCCU with recent fed rate hike ? Thinking they may raise it ?

Anyone ordering performance? Tesla's site has not been updated to confirm it qualifies.

ohhh it might be old for todays terms ahahah

so my MDX has adaptive cruise control so lets say you are on the highway and you start cruise control and lane assist. the car will continue to go at 75MPH and keep a 3 car distance from the car in front of me ... but lets say the car in front of me brakes my mdx will recognize that and break as well to help maintain that 3 car gap ... sorry if that doesn't make sense but i will watch few videos on youtube to figure it out.
Yes, that's exactly how it works. I had similar tech in my Volvo XC90 w/ Pilot Assist 2. It combines LKA and ACC into a single system. You set your speed and distance, and the car brakes as needed if traffic slows, and speeds back up, to the max of the speed you set. The car stays centered in your lane as best as possible, and also moves over if a car veers into your lane. Curves worked relatively well too, but sweeping curves would sometimes be can issue. And as someone else stated, it does not stop at lights or signs.

That was my Volvo, but I believe Tesla AP is similar. You'd need the upgraded FSD or Enhanced AP to get additional features.

Prepare for another influx of orders given that the IRS retroactively made all Model Ys have a $80k limit.

Wow, that's interesting news. And has yet to be reported by the large EV blogs. I would have ordered the Model Y Performance. Oh well, I don't really need it. Great news for others who can find existing inventory though.

It should be similar to Adaptive Cruise Control plus Lane Keep Assist found in most other vehicles.

What you are referring to, is old school cruise control, where you need to manually brake/cancel.
Yes that's what I was looking for. So it will adaptive cruise control even on streets, not just highways

You can find more info here: https://www.tesla.com/en_eu/support/autopilot

As with any other semi-autonomous system, lanes have to be clearly marked, or else it temporary disables the autosteer functionality.

Correct auto pay through their checking account
I think most FCU's have that requirement
I'm going to look into it. Looks like it's a good deal. I'm in California, so I have check
if I'm even eligible. Yeah, the autopay is no big deal. I have everything on autopay anyway. I guess I'll just have to figure a way to auto pay funds into checking account there.

If you get it before anything ceases in March, and it's a 7 seater.

There is no 7 seat requirement under the new guidelines just announced- All Model Ys, regardless of config, qualify since the price cap on all versions is now $80,000 instead of $55,000 for some.

Ahh CRAP!! How far do I have to read back? All the performance packages (at least on model Y) were over the $55K limit as I recall.
