Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

Corolla can be fixed anywhere which makes it a great deal. Teslas are very limited to where they can be repaired.

Don't think you need a 15 page checklist listing common defects when you pick up a Corolla.

How's that FSD working out?
imagine buying a 50k corolla and then having to pay for repairs that cost the same as a lexus when the wheels falls off before you even drive it. LOL

Superchargers about to get really crowded. Worse than Costco gas station.

The new rules would allow Tesla to keep its unique connectors, but it will have to add a permanently attached CCS connector or adapter that charges a CCS-compliant vehicle, similar to a gas pump that has a separate handle for gas versus diesel.

Look like only Tesla purchased before March 2022 is eligible. One requirement is has to be in the eligibility list and Tesla is not. Tesla needs to apply to be on the list.https://cleanvehiclerebate.org/en...la-model-y [cleanvehiclerebate.org]

Tell me you don't understand how EVs work without telling me you don't understand how EVs work Smilie

First- the vast majority of EV owners charge at home. Superchargers are for road trips.

Second- Tesla is already like 4 out of every 5 EVs on the road in the US, so this is only expanding the # of EVs with access to the superchargers by like 20%

Third- Tesla will use the $ from the program to double the # of superchargers. This year.

100% expansion, with only 20% more cars using it.

Tesla already opened the superchargers to other brands in Europe, a fair while ago now- hasn't been an issue at all... this will be even better since the program will result in less busy charging stations overall.

Tesla's maintenance cost is no where close to cars in it's price range

As for repairs, it's true if you have an accident but that's more of an insurance issue.

I have Tesla insurance in Texas and it's no more expensive than my other cars. It's actually cheaper. Also Tesla insurance is cheaper than other companies
Not trying to hate Tesla. But your statement makes no sense. If a car repair cost too much to repair after collision, wouldn't it make sense for the insurance companies to charge more for the premiums for that particular brand? The same principle applies to locations with common theft problems, Zip Codes with higher accident numbers and so on. I guess your case is super unique.
