Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I received my VIN today with Est Delivery date of 2/28-3/5...
Since 2/8 delivery date is safe for the $7500 credit but there is only 1 time slot left and is very inconveinent. Wondering if I schedule on 3/1 ... is there any risk with the fed $7500.
For me it would depend how inconvenient that time slot is versus how much I would worry about the tax credit. None of us know when the IRS will come out with more information.

Update

Order 1/17 MY LR MSM w/ Hitch

EDD 3/1 -3/31
EDD 2-28 - 3/31
EDD 3/1 - 3/29

Today 2/20 VIN updated, Austin build
EDD 03/04 - 03/13

Getting close, and that tax credit deadline has me concerned. Here's to hoping for all of us that the government moves slow at finalizing those tax credit specifics.

For Loan application with Armco ,I got a conditional approval from them saying they could only approve for 24 months (till validity of I94/797). Anyone in the same boat who is on H1B and had luck with them for 60/72 months or any other credit unions lately ?

Strange. Not in PA but dcu/other CUs don't have issues.

The SR can also routinely be charged to 100% without issue, while the LR/P models they recommend you don't routinely charge over 90% (100% is fine for the occasional road trip) so the "local" range isn't even that much different.
This is absolutely false. What you're speaking about is true for LFP batteries, but the SR AWD Model Y 4680 batteries are not LFP. Right now, the only Teslas with LFP batteries are the Model 3 RWD models.

Hey, let me know how it went. If you found any panel gaps or any other issues. Thanks. I don't see too many m3p buyers on this thread.
I did not have any panel gap issues with my M3P today. There where very minor small scratches that they quickly buffed out. Only issue I could see is one of my front headlights does not sit as flush as the other. I was super picky and spent more time (90 minutes) than 5 others deliveries that picked up at the same time. The Rep told me to submit via the app and a mobile guy will likely come to address it. Overall a different but good experience. Everything thing was essentially on my own to inspect and let them know. No one baby sat me like in some of the YouTube video's I've seen of delivery day. They said I had 48 hours and 100 miles to report any other issues. The M3P overall is simply amazing. I've owned a lot of cars and this one blows them all away. The speed and handling is insane. Very quite contrary to what others have complained about, drop on the highway just under 80MPH. The amount of tech in the car and what it can do is mind boggling. My 2016 BMW seems like a flip phone compared to a iPhone 13. Mine has matrix lights still, s howed my kids the light show and they their mouths dropped LMAO GL! to you guys an amazing car and now see what all the hype is.

I reserved a MYLR early on but due to the long wait time (estimated delivery in mid March) I ended up buying a second hand Model Y. Can I sell this reservation and get my reservation cost back? If yes, is it an easy process? Any guidance is appreciated.
Dm'd you

Hi Folks,

I wanted to clarify these 2 points below -

1. If I place a new order for MYLR today and the price goes down at the time of delivery, will tesla honor the lower price?
2. If I place a new order today and the price has increased at the time of delivery, will tesla force me to accept new 'higher' price? (of course, I can choose to forego my order fee and not buy the vehicle, I understand this)

I'm in a unique situation as I suddenly woke up and decided to go all in on solar and have sized the system for not one but two EV's!
I don't own a single EV but since my current ICE car lease expires next month, I do need to buy a car and I've chosen MYLR to be that car.
i don't qualify for any credits and i'm in no rush but at the same time, basic human tendencies are kicking in and I'm struggling to understand if today's MYLR prices are great or I should wait until next month to see if they may drop further (IRS tax credits may reduce which in turn, may force tesla to drop MSRP potentially).

I'm also looking at used MYLR's but the difference is not 'needle mover worthy'.

any suggestions?

Of course, the best case would've been to place the order last month when a basic MYLR was at the lowest price of $53K - if anyone in CA wants to transfer their registration, please DM (sorry, couldn't resist a plug).

Thanks in advance!

That's great! I am glad things went smooth for you. Thank you so much for the info! Now I just have to wait for my Vin to be assigned in 2 weeks. Are you planning to change the factory wheel and tires to 18 inch aftermarket?
