Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Are you sure? I was told you can only claim 1 ev credit per person per year.

If you buy 2 Tesla, you'd get only 7500 max
False,

As long as you bought 2 cars that are qualified for the tax rebate AND your tax liability is $15000 or more, you'll get it back. If your tax liability is $10000 (for example) then you can only get back $10000

Nobody knows this yet. In the worst case, you will be eligible for a 3750 credit
Edit: 3750 is not guaranteed either.

For me it would depend how inconvenient that time slot is versus how much I would worry about the tax credit. None of us know when the IRS will come out with more information.

Just to be sure I get the tax credit, I decided to take 1/2 day off work and book that time slot on 2/28 ... Big Grin

Hi, for those that completed the loan with Tower FCU, what document is required for the "original notarized specific power of attorney signel by all proposed title holder"?
I know to submit the Purchase order with VIN, proof of insurance, but not sure about the above requirement. Is that an actual document?

Thanks.

Sorry I am not following all the comments here (10.6k😯) But I see some people have changed the orders to MY Performance and claiming tax credits? Does it still qualify for full credit since the price is above $55K?

Nope, it doesn't matter. All Model Ys qualify so long as MSRP is below $80k and from looking at Telsa, even if you include EVERYTHING including Full Self Driving, you are still below $80k.
