Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

So close to the finish line.

Order 1/17.

Delivery window March 1-3.

Asked to have it changed to 2/28 just to be safe via chat. No go. Received a call and a nice rep who walked me through remaining steps to complete b4 pickup. At the end of the call I asked her if she could reschedule to the 28th. She called delivery center and 5 min later I got a text with DD 2/28.

Pretty happy. Now I do not need to worry about any last minute changes to EV credit.

Plaid is a bit wonky. Does anyone know, is the final payment is pulled when you add your bank or do you have another step to authorize the payment after you add your bank?

I heard on other forums they don't really check at some places. Not sure how true it is in the bay area
Co-registrants have to accept the car in the app. Not sure how it works if they are not there or do not have the app and separate login.

PPF, front mud flaps and truck cover part of your order or paid extra for these?
PPF and mudflaps are free in some regions. I've seen PNW and Minnesota so far. I'm sure there are other regions.

You won't need to add your bank again. The plaid information is a saved payment until you remove it manually. I removed after everything settled.

Tower Federal Credit Unit car loan interest rate went up significantly today from 2.99% to 7.74% per https://www.towerfcu.org/borrow/loan-rates/. Please don't waste your time going through them unless you want a higher interest rate than Tesla at 5.44%.
LOL today. Tower raised the auto loan rates like almost 2 weeks ago on 2/9.

I verified with Tower loan officer, if you don't have Tower FCU account number yet, you can use the loan application number.

Anyone know where I can find my purchase order to send into Tower FCU? I only saw the order agreement and they said it was not the correct one.

You need to provide the Final Purchase Order agreement (includes sales tax, registration and licensing fees) from your Tesla account which you can find when you log in on the desktop platform which they will provide you when a VIN is assigned to your reservation. Has your reservation been assigned a VIN yet? If you haven't been assigned a VIN then the Initial purchase order agreement only includes the MSRP, destination fee and the $250 order fee which is insufficient for the auto loan.

Have all SoCal folks who ordered just a white MY LR been getting Austin builds instead of Fremont builds?

Yes I got the VIN, desperately need this document to complete the loan from Tower. I been staring at my account on my desktop and still not see it.

They claim that unless you go with third party bank, it won't generate if you have Tesla finance. I was keeping the Tesla finance there just incase the Tower FCU don't pan out, but I guess i have to remove it.

Did you put the tower FCU information in the Tesla app for the financing. I think that's what you need to do in order for them to update the account generate the final order agreement

I am hearing so much about "Plaid". Can you tell me what is Plaid and how it works?
