Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Picked up the MYP today, besides small swirl marks and scuffs here and there, everything else was great, there are some small small panel gap but nothing out of the ordinary, paint was great, head lights aligned perfectly. I think I got a unicorn.

Oh and it came with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 instead of the shitty Pirelli
Hi, (if you are able to)
to tell from the VIN what factory?
do you know what motors were installed?
did the car come with brembo calipers?
what color did you get?
where did you see the panel gap issue?
did you get trunk cover inside?

thanks in advance for any input. have MYP ordered as well.

For the VIN, if you look at the 11th digit it will either be an 'A' for Austin or 'F' for Fremont.

I believe all calipers are now Mando instead of Brembo for the M3P and MYP after 8/15/22.

My pick up date is 4th of Mar. MYLR. Is it worth letting go of the current order and placing a new one for HW4? Assuming I will take a 3.5k hit for reduction in federal tax credit and $500 in increased price.

I am planning on keeping this car at least for10 years and plan on using FSD subscription when road tripping.

What y'all think?
Wait until this Wed for HW4 reveal. That should give you some guidance.

I ordered my tesmanian mats on 2/6 and haven't heard any updates. I even emailed them twice and crickets. Should I just cancelled???
It might be a good thing because I got a set and they are super thin compared to other. Thinking about sending them back.

Can anyone offer me advice about protecting the car finish by getting it ceramic coated as soon as I take delivery?

There is a company called Alset, that operates in a lot of cities, that charges an outrageous $1199. They specialize in Teslas and I am not buying their story, but wonder if I should put a ceramic finish on it as soon as I get it (DD is 3/7). I think I can get it done for maybe $200 - $300.
Depends on what kind of "protection" you are looking for. Ceramic coat is just a 4 year wax. I'm getting full car stealth ppf and then getting the ceramic coat applied to it. Ppf is 10 year warranty and like 10mils thick. Ceramic coat is $500 for me but I am getting a ton done at one time, to include total tint.

When IRS issue new guidance is it going to be effective same day? And how to they publish this? and around what time of the day? So folks with March delivery date can check before accepting the delivery on that day.

yeah if one wants to just be lazy about wash/wax for a couple years after buying then just ceramic is fine...

If you're someone who wants to be lazy AND have perfect paint for years and years you'll need to spend the extra on PPF

What color did you get?
I've been considering stealth PPF for my red M Y.
Just not sure if I will like it?

One guy said ceramic coat additional 200$ if I do PPF with him.
Curious though do you need ceramic coat on stealth PPF? If it obscures the base paint, what extra benefit do you see?

Stealth is the "color" which is just a matte finish. It looks AMAZING on a black Tesla!! My girl just sent me a pic of the door that's now complete and the front panel that isnt. I love it!! I was looking for a gun metal look and this is it just lighter than I like.

I'm doing my own "black out" look. So the emblems will be black and wheels.

All ceramic tint, windshield and roof included, total car stealth ppf, ceramic coat and black emblems is $6000.

Sorry, I bought the grey color.

There are plenty of pictures online with red stealth ppf. I looks really awesome.

I just can't warrant spending that much on that though as where I am, it's at least $5.5k for full ppf wrap.

Or if someone want to be a tight a$$ and holds on to every nickle they find, they can wash and wax more often instead of driving and enjoying the car. Also there are those who have no problem with the way their car looks. Some people like their car looking nice all the time and have the money to spend. Some people don't.
